So I had some time this evening to connect to several ECU's and take some screen shots. The first order of business was to see if I could connect to the F1 transmission ECU via the ODBII port as it's been stated by many, which I have spread the dis-information, that it cannot be done. Well, that is 100% false as it can, and I have done so. In fact, I've also connected to the Motronic ECU via the OBDII socket as well (which that has been stated as true). [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gUDrnt-ZUrA[/ame] However, I was only able to connect to the F1 ECU and Motronic ECU via the OBDII socket - I could not connect to any others. But, I also don't know the integrity of my octopus cable

Dave I could be wrong but I thought I read the F1 cars have a canbus cable that connects F1 and other components. I do not think the earlier cars do.
Thanks, Skipp. I'm Starting to think actuator centering is more than N as the SD shows a value for it, but I have no idea what the value means. I hope to discuss these parameters with a couple pro tech friends soon. Lots to learn.
As I mentioned, the system has a parameter but I don't know what it means. I might be able to chat with my guys in a few days.
Thanks for the screenshots Dave. It looks fairly straight forward from what I see. I'll have to act faster next time one comes up.
You're welcome. It's fairly straightforward to connect and navigate. But, it's not straightforward to know what all the parameters are or what the functions do.
So, I had a discussion with the tech I know last night (Matt Burns). Matt is super knowledge and a cool guy. So, we discussed my "Clutch Position as new" value of 13.49mm Matt stated he recently installed a new 355 F1 clutch and the value was 17mm. On another car he was working on, that value was 17.8mm That said, it seems a bit suspect that my value of 13.49 is correct which would support my clutch being less worn than the system thinks (and how the car is performing). So, if the standard value should be 17mm, and my "Self calibrated closed clutch position" = 20.73mm, it would indicate 3.73mm of wear. Still seems over 50%...
So a few weeks ago Brian S. Contacted me explaining he was working on a 355 and his Leonardo would not clear some error codes on the shock ECU. He asked if I could try and clear the codes with my factory SD2. I said sure as I wanted to help him and learn the system and no better way to do so than real life experience. Pardon the blurry video but I did clear the codes with my SD2. After the video, with his shock ECU still in the car, I did see a shock error on the dash (suspected it to be the multiple starts with no motion). Sure enough, connected the SD2 again and had an error for "no speed detected". I cleared it and then started my car to be sure all codes were cleared. It's all set and ready to ship back to Brian Monday. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ZGNI5eCQQM&sns=em
Pretty cool that the sd2 can be used so fast. If the ecu is locked up why isn't there an mil on the dash? That car on triangles thing. Did I miss it?
Might have been since the car was not started. Or perhaps the ECU was not seeing the error on my car.
