Does anyone know where you can buy a convenient holder for the ADR cards that insurers make us now fit to our cars? The card that commuicates to the on board tracking device, inidicating whether the car has been stolen or not. Ideally it would be leather have the ability to attach itself to a keyring with the car key itself. I am forever unsure what to do with the cards. I don't want them in my pockert and nor do I want to leave it in the car. It is a bit of a pain to be honest. A nice leather bound one that formed part of a key set would be ideal.

    Does this make sense?

Problem with attaching it to your keys is that insurance companies will void your insurance in this case if your keys are stolen...

Try Maranello Concessionaires in Egham as they supply for new cars so must have a stock.

Dr. SB is right. You are required to keep the card separate from your keys and not leave it in the car either! It is part of your insurance requirement and would void a claim should you not be able to produce the keys and the card if making a theft claim. I have a Tods wallet that has a small coin pocket that houses the card perfectly. The wallet is always in my pocket whether I use the car or not and therefore always kept separate!

Thanks but I am not planning on having the car stolen. Or losing my keys. Nor do I need a lesson on insurance issues, more than once especially. I just want a convenient solution to this problem. I wouldn't ever haver chosen to fit one of these stupid trackers in the first place and frankly I think the whole thing is a scam by the insurers. If you have more than one car, which I do, it becomes a serious pain in the arse. At one stage I had cards for a 599 GTO, 458 and Challenge Stradale. Now I am down to two but it is still a bit of a nonsense. The cars are locked in a garage the majority of the time. There doesn't seem to be a need for them on the 288, 275, F40 and F50. I guess they are less likely to be stolen and are easier to track/harder to sell on illegally.

Wow relax. Have you ever thought people are just trying to help you? And you are right no one plans to lose these things but unfortunately they happen- more trouble than its worth including money. Anyway- not an issue to you- most coin holder wallets/wallets with coin pockets will house it nicely. I keep my keys in my pocket and tracking card in my bag which is always with me. On the off chance the bag is not with me, then I will either put tracker in pocket as well or into wallet coin section as stated above by another user.

And trust me I know about your 'pain in the arse' thing about having it on more than one car. I have solutions for that too and I don't keep the cards near the keys at home. They are kept separately for insurance reasons again. Keep them colour coded so we know which car it belongs to. But clearly this and insurance worries are not your main concern, then why not just disable the tracker? And leave it at home??

I am guessing very very soon- the tracker will be integrated into our mobiles.

Let's hope so. Mobile solution would be good but I guess there are seperate security issues there too. Not insurmountable though! Appreciate the thoughts.

Sorry to dr.sb as wel if I came across as arsey, this issue has just been bothering me for a while and it runs deeper than that too given my long standing issues with insurance companies in general. The ADR thing serves as a just a daily reminder how much they piss me off, I was ranting. Apologies.

No problem. I should understand being in a profession where people take out other worries...I should have been more understanding. Fair question though. I do hope the they become integrated somehow into our mobile phones or wallets etc, or they themselves become a lot smaller/compact.

I concur with you on it being one of those insurance money - spinners though - would you really want a car back that has been stolen and driven harshly, maybe with a few knocks etc anyway. I think my love for that car would be damaged. Anyway that is a discussion for another day.

Hope what Tim recommended is available at Egham. I was not aware of such a thing. Interesting.
