From the factory, do these cars have an interior that is all leather?
I've started to restore the interior on my car and the seats have responded well to leatherique. The rear shelf and upper trim on the sills appear to have a slightly different grain than the seats but it still feels like leather. Dash and instrument pod top are a different grain but stiched so can I assume that is leather too? Cream colored headliner? Door panels? Thanks

I, too, will be restoring the interior of mine and if other forum members could post pics of any changes (purists stop reading now) they've undertaken to theirs, it could serve as inspiration. Anyone put in alcantara headliner? Has anyone figured a sensible, decent looking way to make the rear seatbelts look better than what they do? Pictures are appreciated!

Perhaps this is of some value...Ten or twelve years ago, my entire dash was in horrid condition. The leather on the instrument hood was dry and cracked, the flat dash was in the same way. I did my dash and interior in two stages. Removed the hood and dash and I personally recovered the flat dash in the highest quality Marine grade glove soft vinyl available, in black. I'm sooooo glad that I chose black, as the reflection from the huge glass made so much glare, that I could not safely drive the car in sunlight. The dash is still in absolutely perfect condition, and my car lives in Florida. The hood was done later when I had the entire leather interior done. I personally chose a wonderful Cognac color, stitched in red. Vinyl is so good today that I defy you to tell the difference from leather....Just some thoughts. Jq.

Thanks Jay. I'm not looking to replace anything as it is cleaning up pretty nicely - just looking into what products to use. I wonder how many Gitanes have contributed to the off-white color of the headliner?

But how's it running? I finally broke down and had my fuse panel rebuilt on the 412 and it's been 100% reliable. Took a few long trips in it this Summer- have had cars alongside me with the Iphone video for unbearably long stretches of the Mass Pike!

Drove up to the north shore yesterday evening for a meeting. Returned around 10pm to a completely clear highway & cool air. It's quite a thrill to see the speedo sweep past 180 (km/h)!

All surfaces of our cars that look like leather...are genuine Connelly leather, it's not the highest quality out there. Only the floors &, in some cars, headliners aren't. I believe it's in the order of 5 or 6 hides that are used, depending if the headliner is leather or not.
