I am having the top dash recovered on the 575 due to typical leather stretching issues.

What is weird is I noticed the bottom part of the dash (including the doors and rear shelf) has blue stitching thread. But the top dash is black thread on the seams. Here is a pic. Was this a factory thing? or maybe the dash was redone before?

Here are some pics to illustrate

I am thinking to have the thread be blue to be consistent with the rest of the car. Thoughts? Thx.

IMO a " fading " issue more than different color thread. Now , Black on dash and blue on a separate panel all together, that can be a factory thing.

Red turns orange , gray turns white, etc...

But I can clearly see what you mean, its BLUE as noted !!

It will be interesting to see what others experience has been,

Yes you are right. After much closer inspection it does appear to be a fading issue as some of the seams not exposed to sun are blue indeed. Mystery solved!

Will have it recovered using the same blue thread. Thx!

Have someone print a build sheet for her and all the thread colors are spelled out.

Michael- Affirmative, feeling much better. Not much strength or endurance, but that will come with time.
