I have read that there should be a leather strap in the rear boot that attaches to the right rear bumper bolt and is used to secure the jack securely. This is on a 73 car

Does anyone have detailed pictures of this arrangement please as mine is missing.

Mark, the pics show the correct position and yes, it is leather.

Henk van Lith from the Netherlands is producing very good reproductions.

Interesting! Just checked #2600 ('72) and there seems to be no hole for the strap but maybe the carpet has been replaced. Was this strap standard in all series or just on later cars? Mark, your Dino is just 66 cars after mine, btw.

That leather strap buckle looks "made in El Salvador", just perfect.
I know just the guy here, if he's still alive. He used to make saddles and other horse stuff a zillion years ago.

Can someone provide dimensions, and does it apply to "L' series? Are there more starps elsewhere, and where does the jack fit in my case, as in the photo? I know this is a latter version.
    Thank you.

    Regards, Alberto

I will get some more pictures and measurements tomorrow or this week.

Adrian, the car pictured is actually 06950, not mine. I will look at mine too, but I think the carpet does not go that far up.

M-series and early E-series have no leather belt in the luggage boot.
Adrian, everything correct with your Dino.

Well, who said the straps were cheap from Henk :)

I emailed Henk about the strap yesterday morning. 10 minutes later he called me and we spent 30 minutes talking about Ferrari interiors. What an interesting guy, Henk knows all about interiors and can reproduce the leather exactly, plus the mousehair of course.

Anyway at the end of the conversation I am the proud owner of the leather strap and I now have to send my dashboard to him to recover in six weeks time and I also bought a new headlining. Henk was so helpful it is amazing.

I'm in Qatar and it is so hot here in June/July/August that this is an excellent time to remove my dash and send it to him. Henk has been really great and promised to squeeze it into his very busy workload.

    What a great guy.

managed to get a strap remade for the jack /tool holder. Finishes off the boot area nicely now that the new carpet has been fitted
