Thanks to FC ers, I have the seat out of my 328. Sheared off hinge bolt repaired. We're having nice warm days and I thought that the hard/cracked leather needs a serious rehab job. I heard praises of Leatherique and bought 2 quarts which I now have. Question...one heavy coat, or numerous thin coats.? Brush it on, rags, or just massage it with your hand in a rubber glove? (My wife voted to use deerskin gloves and treat the gloves and the seat in one stroke) How long does one wait between coats How many coats would be optimum.? Do you wipe excess off with rags before the next go? Any problems with this product that I should be aware of????

Just rub the Rejuv Oil in with your hands. Get as much on it as you can. Cover it with plastic (don't use any plastic that has any kind of printing on it!), regular large plastic trash bags work fine. Do this with the leather warm if you can.

Get the seats somewhere where they'll get some heat in them. If the seats are out of your car, you can put them in the back of an SUV and let them simmer all day in the sun with the windows up. Keep applying more Rejuv Oil to keep them wet-ish. The more days you can do this for, the better. One full day is a minimum, the more days the better.

After that treatment, wipe them down with a soft cloth and the Pristine Clean.

I've been given to understand that the Leatherique products bring back the soft, supple feeling of brand-new leather - maybe even better.

But - this might seem like a silly question - what about the smell?

I'm serious. I was at an all-Italian show yesterday, and while my humble 308 looks almost like new, it lacks that wonderful high-quality leather smell that the newer Ferraris all have.

Does anybody know of a product that will restore that wonderful smell? Will the Leatherique do it?

+1. (NOTE: BE VERY CAREFULL THAT PLASTIC BAG DOES NOT HAVING WRITING, I KNOW THIS FIRST HAND!!!)

Use rubber gloves, wouldnt want the color from deerskin glove to possible bleed from glove to seat, just being cautious, but I really like the idea.

I put pristine clean in spray bottle..

I just did my seats and rubbed in the rejuv oil with my hands wearing latex gloves. Glopped it on there until the seats were good and wet. Let it sit overnight and then used prestine clean from a spray bottle and wiped off with a soft cloth.

Seats are noticeably softer and smell fantastic, smells like new leather but since it's an old car it has some nice gas, oil, and exhaust overtones that smell great. Sometimes I just go out to the garage to smell it.

We done and re-done our 308 with Leatherique products and are 90% satisfied. Our only disapointment is that we cannot get the dye to hold up on the piping. We took 2 ratty looking seats and rejuvinated them to look like new but after a week of use we have to touch up the piping and center strip. Would I reccomend the stuff, most certainly and it may be the fact that the denim fabric is too rough. In closing let me say that George from Leatherique is a great help ! Call him direct if you have questions. LOST

I hit all the trim 3-4 times with the oil used latex gloves really rubbed that oil in then bagged them let the oil soak in, took about a week on and off to oil. Then prepped trim ready for paint i sponged along/ inside the pipping 2-3 coats then i got myself a small gravity feed spraygun and sprayed the trim 3-4 times with dry thin light coats if you slap the color on to think it becomes shiny not a good look, no probs let it dry scuff it with 1200 grit paper then color it again. I i did the back of the seats first to get the hang of it. Couple of hrs between coats (summer time) Go slow thin light dry coats, it took a while to complete but i'm rapped with the finish. before (and after shots) from cream to tan. Leatherique the only way to go, Good luck mate!

Latex gloves here I come. ( Wish I had the elbow length gloves the Canadian Revenue/Customs guy had as he went through everything I owned.) Wife is pushing deerskin gloves still, but liked the plastic bag idea. She wondered if Glad Wrap or that wrap-on-a-roll stuff you get at U-Haul/Public Storage would be better?

Yes, glad wrap is ok, as long it isnt the tinted stuff. Really this is a step that can be omitted. Most importantly you gently work it in... You may be able to find the elbow gloves at a sporting goods store, they're used for gutting animals. Thanks Good luck.
    Post before and after.

Oh, you can also try a boars hair bristle brush or any soft (natural hair pref) brush and lightly and gently brush the oil.
