Leaving for Munich in a few days! Any pilots?

    Hey guys, I'm going to be arriving in Munich on Jun.1 to study for most of the summer. Staying with a host family off the S8 at Johanneskirchen and taking classes during the day at a language school just outside of the HBF.

    I'm a student pilot here in the US and would love to meet with a pilot in Germany to see how different the training and flying is. So if anyone here is a pilot or knows one, send me a message! I'm happy to pay the costs for a quick flight or two.

    This will be my first time in Munich. I'm very excited! If anyone wants to get together for a beer, send me an e-mail!

    Jordan, I'm from Munich and a pilot ( helicopter), but live in the US :O). One place you HAVE to visit ist Red Bull's Hangar 7 at the airport in Salzburg, Austria. It's only about an hour from Munich. An incredible collection of airplanes,helicopters, cars, race cars, motorcycles and more in one place. Very cool place...

    I think you are even allowed to fly by yourself as long as the plane is registered as a US plane (and you have a license).

    Then again, forget about flying...Munich and Bavaria is not the US, people in Munich have a different mindset, it's called Gemuetlichkeit. Relax, take a break, go to the beergarden, have a beer and chilllllllllllllllllllllll ;O).

    Thanks for the heads up Markus! I've been to Salzburg before...it is a beautiful city. I'm a classical musician, so I fit in very well there! I'll be going back for a weekend again on this trip but I forgot about the Red Bull Hanger at the airport. I will definitely go there as well!
