I know, I know, I just got here! However, a better career opportunity presented itself in the Midwest so I changed course.

I really did enjoy Vegas, and people tend to be dumbfounded when you say you are leaving Vegas for Milwaukee, but I was more persuaded by the job trajectory and potential rather than the climate. Now instead of making enough money to be able to leave town for the summer months, it is merely the opposite!

After driving my family to our new place in the car I flew down with my teenage brother, packed up our storage unit and drove it back up to Wisconsin. In all it was 61 hours of driving in 5 days, with 2 days of flying and showing my brother around town. The truck had bad tires so it shook badly at speed, killing my legs and back.

We stayed and the Stratosphere and I FINALLY did those rides on the tower I had been talking about doing for a long time. I didn't really remember my fear of "open" heights. The one that shoots you up and then lets you freefall caused convulsions (my whole torso was seizing up spasmically) once I couldn't see the tower beneath, and the "Insanity" ride which spins you out over the city facing downward with your upper body hanging kind of put me in a mellow, shock-like state. I was particularly freaked out about that one since it took them about three minutes to properly lock the bar over my legs and waist into place - it was having issues locking up and while riding I of course kept imagining the bar failing and letting me fall 1100 feet to the street below.

I just wanted to say thank you to all of the local Fchatters and club members who were very helpful and friendly to me and my family during our time there. I'm still talking about some ventures in the area so I'm sure I'll be around town a bit in the next few years.

I thought this was going to be one of those "I am going to drink myself to death threads" just like the movie.

Yeah, we filled up on Jason's Deli sandwiches before hitting the road. We lived right across the street from Pottery Barn and PF Changs.

Man, that truck detour on the 95 to go around the dam sucks.

Hey Chris - we did, at the Italian restaurant on Sahara (lunch?) then I was with the big group that went to your friend's house party on the north side of town, after the UFC fights at the home theatre store.

Wasn't too bad - we had pizza in the main theatre but I don't think anyone spilled anything. ;)
