Lec ignored team orders

He’s our collective representative of talent and I’m proud we’ve already scored a few points this season.

 

FFS. just listening to all the defaults and the back and forth then to find the right dial and push whatever buttons....jeeeezus!!!......I would've had a verbal meltdown on team radio. Then Leclerc collected himself. You just feel his hysteria at first, then frustration...then calms down (probably due to slowing down from the SC)

This is a very good listen. I like Leclerc even more now.

My takeaways:
- calmly handled all the mode/dial/etc changes (grace under pressure)
- He asked about fuel situation impact before being told (great Situational Awareness)
- He asked about Seb and probable finish order (thinking about team)
- Queried about taking car to grid or garage (caring for his equipment)
- Said "I'm sorry" ...surely he knew he had done nothing wrong, so he is thinking beyond himself (Sorry for the team)
- And Quick to Point out the positive (losers are defeatists...he is not)

As I stated months ago he is very special this audio tape show excellent maturity, professionalism, team spirit and I reiterate my humble opinion: he is the favourite for the WDC title this year and by the way during the pre race grid interviews one of the people who pointed him out as favourite for the title was... Fernando Alonso.
Think about that...

As long as Charles doesn’t take himself or Seb out, he can ignore whatever orders he wants. The only thing I want from them both is to start beating the mercs and bring a title back to ferrari. The sooner they do, the sooner things get back to normal

Frankly speaking, looking at Vettel recent years performance, it really make me suspect he only won those championship due to red bull had superior car over other teams. He could not defeat Riccardo in 2014, not to mention he would not stand a chance to compete with Max if he stayed at red bull now.
As for Kimi, I believed there are more to why he could not perform in Ferrari all these years. He partnered with Vettel for years, and when asked about Lec's future in ferrari, he mention the kid will be fine if he ignore all the politics in the team and focus only on races. Maybe that sort of indicate Vettel's ability

 

Vettel won by driving the best car, getting in front by turn 1 and staying in front of DRS until the finish. His wheel to wheel racecraft is lacking.
