I've purchased 2 LED bulbs to replace the R5W bulbs in the front sidelights.

The LED bulbs work in my tasty VW Polo but not the 355. I know that LEDS are polarity specific and have indeed swapped the bulbs around but to no avail. The only difference I can see is that the 355 polarity is inverted from the Polo. I.e the 355 has + going to the side pins and - to central bottom contact. Polo is other way around.

I also get approx 25 volts, no load when making the measurement.

    Any ideas ?

    Thanks

I had the same in my car. All you need to do is to cut the wires and reconnect them in the opposite polarity. The center wire to the outer and the outer wire to the center, then it will work fine!.

Problem is that you will need to put LED ballasts to them or use a LED ready relay... Otherwise the system will believe the bulbs are burned out...

Hey Marco, thanks for the info. I'll take a crack at the solution later on this weekend.

    Cheers
