My Testarossa’s headlights are a bit weak for night driving so I want to upgrade to LED. I bought a kit but I ran across another thread that recommended using caution as the electricial system might have problems. Is there anything I need to do before installing them? I was under the impression that LED bulbs draw much less power than halogen bulbs.

My car does have an upgraded fuse box.

If you have replacement LED lights then you are fine. They probably added a warning as a just in case but it should be a drop in replacement depending on the type that you bought.

AFAIK it can be both ways: they can draw more or less current. It depends on the bulb.

Especially early LED upgrades have large cooling bodies to manage the heat generated by the additional current.

Step 1 is make sure your fuse board and connectors are updated/sorted/ok.

I keep toying w the idea of getting Holley 7in LEDs but want to do more investigation on what the best are before pulling the trigger

Why so low on H4 wattage? If you go with halogen, bypass the stalk headlight switch with direct relays. This will reduce the current thru the stalk switch, and have more voltage to the headlights.

LEDs dont need as much wattage for the same lumens output. That could be why. They are MUCH more sensitive to current fluctuations though so a stable/good grounding/proper wiring is key
