Found this item from "alfabb". I think this is really good if the photo is a reference to results.
This is the best I have seen so far.

I am certain, he would be more than pleased to share further information...

"Here is my latest update on using LED and Halogen LED bulbs in the gauges (instruments). LED's: 4-LED BA9s LED Bulbs Specifications. Indicator lights: Use the same LED bulb color as the indicator light! These work great, nice and bright in direct daylight. Use Halogen bulbs in the main instrument lights. 5 watt Halogen for the Spedo and Tack: BulbConnection.com - $2.95 Osram 39431 64111 Replacement Lamp. And 10 watt Halogen in the Try-gauge: BulbConnection.com - $4.74 Osram 39423 64113 Replacement Lamp." See photo...

But all Dino instrument lighting bulbs are 3W BA9s's (I inspected all of mine)...isn't using something noticeably higher asking for trouble?

You are right Ron, posted the complete contents of his message, only this being pertinent to our application :

"LED's: 4-LED BA9s LED Bulbs Specifications. Indicator lights: Use the same LED bulb color as the indicator light! These work great, nice and bright in direct daylight"

Check' em out, they have all our favorite colors...and no heat. Plus, the investment is minimal. Buy one and test your individual gauges with a battery and tell us about it.

The rest, is FYI, as Alfa Romeo are Italian cars as well, and just as peculiar...and Alfa's instruments are made by Veglia also, and the gauges he is showing are late 50's.

Give George ( my mistake about Roger...) a call and ask him. I am certain he will be a good source of information, after all he is into professional restoration of bikes.

    Regards, Alberto
