My '10 Cali does not have the LED steering wheel. If I was to buy an LED wheel and install it on my Cali would it work or is there wiring that is not there when you don't have the LED wheel on your initial order? I know on my Porsche Panamera when you order your car w/o things like this the wiring is still in place but you just don't have the part. Therefore, if you install the part you can plug it in just like it would have come from the factory.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I would hate to waste $4,500!

It doesn't matter what people on Fchat tell you because we can't be held responsible if your project goes wrong.

You should only get advice and buy this sort of item from the same people who will install it and warranty that it will work on your car. And get the quotation properly described in writing.

+1. Also, I think the dealer will need to re-flash the firmware so it can be recognized, even if mechanically the rest of the hardware is already there.

Thanks for info guys! I'm going to hold off until I can buy a good condition used steering wheel at a good price so if it doesn't work I'm not out as much $.

I think you should ask your dealer if it can be done. Start the conversation. He will give you a quote for parts and labor. And then with a little haggling might give you a better price.

Of course you already know to be careful working with modern steering wheels equipped with air bags. If that air bag goes off in your face, you could be injured terribly. Broken nose, damaged eye, cuts and maybe even chipped or lost teeth.

My Cali didn't have the LEDs but I enjoyed every 75,000 miles of her.
