I converted my 360 tail and brake lights to LED and have received the ones for the turn signals. I know I need to add a resistor across the + and - leads to each bulb to stop the lights from flashing too quickly but I cannot find any information on FChat as to what size to use.
Can someone who has done this please help
    Thanks
    Alan

What is the wattage of the bulb you are taking out. Give me that and I will do the math. I could go pull my bulb I guess but can't get to it until the afternoon.

Haven't read the thread but it should work. The differences aren't enough to cause a problem. The good news here is that you have a lot of margin in the system.

Just replace the flasher relay with an electronic one that auto compensates. They are available at all of the auto parts stores

    ^^^^^^ THIS!

A "no load flasher relay" eliminates butchering your wire harness with bulky unnecessary resistors.

Use 5,6 Ohm resistor. Honestly any 3-8 Ohm resistor will work. Remember to use high power resistors aprox 10 W.

Thanks guys I think I'll try the flasher relay as that will save time trying to figure out which wire in the harness is the one I need. Anyone know if the pins are the same as the socket?

    Alan:

It's the blue wire. Use the 6ohm 50w resistor. Actually, join two together in series. One wire of the resistor attaches to the black wire, the other free end goes to the blue. You should be good to go.
I got the resistors from Superbrightleds.com
I'll post pictures of my conversion soon. Still have to get all four lights to come on with headlamps otherwise everything else is working great.
    I used theses lights.

I think I'll see if changing the relay is a viable option first as that is the easy route. Someone suggested I get one of these but I'm still not sure on the pins. The first is for a motorcycle and the second for a car and the pin connections seem to be marked differently (it seems as if the two outside pins are reversed). Any comments will be appreciated.
    Thanks

You could always talk to Stef at Scud Ing Swiss | Home Page | ScudIng.com. He may be willing to sell the flasher he created. It is what I have in my car, and is proven to work with the LEDs in the rear and OEM filament bulbs everywhere else.

I did so and he offers a relay that is 7 pin so the 3 pin relays will not work. It's quite pricey but less than an OEM unit. I got some of these so I should be good to go and if I ever needed to remove them the wiring will still be intact as the 3M connectors do not cut through the wires.
