'Legends of Motorsport' on Speed

I don't know if any of you have seen this, but I didn't read any mention of it here. The show airs relatively early (3:00 am Alaska time) every morning. This mornings episode featured a Rally event from 1983. There were quite a few great interviews with Nissan's Tony Pond and Lancia's Walter Rohrl. Having never seen that much old rally footage, the show was great. The Vangelis/Chariots of Fire-esque synth work was the real time stamp on it though. The most I had seen of most of those cars in action was in GT4.

Tonight (tomorrow morning) the episode features the Grand Prix at Brands Hatch from 1964.

They used to give this show way more often before this NASCARTv sh$t started. When it was speedvision, it was great, with all kinds of automotive show like that. Now all we get is the shows we really wanna see at 3 in the freakin AM.

 

"Legends" is a great series, much of it commentated apon in my native language which takes me back to my youth (I am a brit). Timing? TiVo/DVR solves that one.

I feel they should play it more and at better times. Not all NASCAR all the time.

 

I'm still pissed at my cable company, Time Warner. When I got the digitial package a while back it INCLUDED Speed. Someone then decided to move channels around and now if I want Speed I have to fork over an additional $4. And the cable industry can't figure out why their customers are unsatisfied and want a-la-carte menuing.
