do many of you guys collect ?
I used to have tons of it. Not much of a fan of the newer stuff which may look nice, but the pieces are so big and formed in a particular way you can't make your own things, which is what Lego is all about IMO. Tecnic is my favorite...I'd build cars with quite technical bits (working engine, suspensions, steering etc) and then build a body around it using normal Lego's. I miss it dearly actually...One of these days I'm going to start collecting it again, just buy by the KG from ebay and the occasional tecnic kit and throw it all together.
I still look forward to receiving a new set each birthday and Christmas (am 34 now). Usually it is the Technic line like Bas Jaski mentioned, but I also really like the more detailed city block sets like the current Parisian Restaurant and Palace Cinema, and the retired Green Grocer, City Hall, etc. Would love to get back to building without instructions/using my imagination again one of these days!
Not a "collector" of unopened sets, although I have set aside two StarWars fighters that I don't want to be partially disassembled, dismantled, and disappear into the piles of Legos my kids have.. But I still enjoy very much building stuff with Legos. Mostly architectural buildings to accompany Lego trains, StarWars, Ninjago, Chima and all the other kits my three young boys play with. I try not to pull my hair out when they destroy my creations in one of their epic battles between good and evil.. I'm glad I have my three young sons as an excuse to get more. Othewrwise I'd be torn about spending all that money on all the kits. What do you collect? Cheers, - Art
