Here is one of the reasons the new American sports car racing series should
scrap the prototype categories and revert back to a purely GT formula just as happened
when the FIA withdrew its sanction after 1972 and IMSA took over.

We rarely to never see mention of top young American drivers like Leh Keen even though
he's made some great accomplishments, they're in the GT ranks which are overshadowed
    by the prototypes.

When the American sports car scene reverted to a purely GT formula with the IMSA Camel
GT series, top American stars such as Peter Gregg, Hurley Haywood and Al Holbert
emerged and went on to great careers.

We may point to Leh Keen as a great emerging talent, sports car racing should do
all it can to be sure he stays in our sport and not off to be a t-shirt and trinket salesman
    in NASCAR.
