what are the advantages of using one of these and is it worth it?
It cuts some of the sun glare while taking pics outdoors or in artificial lighting scenarios, and it also protects the lense from bumps and scratches. I use mine 100% of the time.... Makes you look like you know what your doing also
Make sure that you get the right one for your lens or you'll get vignetting (meaning the hood will show up in the photos).
