Let the BASHING begin!! Different wheels on the GT...

I for one was thinking when I opened this... "Oh God, Roy must have gotten drunk and done something stupid..."

Wow, just wow. I usually hate stock wheels as I do with stock GT wheels (though I'm not big on many aftermarket "bling bling-y" ones either)

But these just look like... They belong? I guess.

Very interesting Roy, personally I like the Roaster wheels on the Diablo’s, they blow the doors off the stock wheels. IMO the only good looking stock Diablo wheels are on the 6.0.

Believe it or not the early 02-04 Murcie wheels look great on the Diablo’s as well.

FYI - I'm looking for another pair of Roaster wheels as I trashed one of mine (hit a piece of wood on the freeway) and need to replace it; so I was thinking of buying another set of used rims instead of paying three grand for one new replacement wheel.

Let me know if you want to sell the Roaster Wheels.

Is the ride different with the factory GT wheels or the Murci wheels? Visually I like the stock black center wheels.....but it really doesnt matter because you have both sets

I like it, but would agree that the other black ones looked "meaner".

I don't know what the big deal is. You will just swap them out after a while.

Here's my opinion ... the OE GT wheels are really bad. I'm not a fan at all of the colored-center with chrome lip fad, the style of the front wheels makes them look extremely small (they look like they would fit well on a Miata), and overall I'm just not a fan of the design.

The Murcie Roadster wheels are GORGEOUS on a Diablo (much better than they look on a Murcie). The gunmetal/black color along with the all-black car make it look EXTREMELY badass and if I was of the inclination to draw a car with guns coming out of the headlights ... this would be the car I would use.

That said, I do agree that the wheels don't look purposeful enough .... they look too heavy if that makes any sense. I still feel they are a 20x improvement over the OE wheels, but agree that something else might look just as good and also convey the sense that the car is as light/purpose-built as it really is. I can't think of such wheels right now ... but if I do, I'll let you know.

That aside ... what is with everyone getting mucho cajones on the Net these days? You don't like the Murcie wheels on a Diablo GT .... go buy yourself a Diablo GT and keep the wheels stock. If you were standing in front of Roy would you insult his decision as openly as you do behind the safety of your ethernet connection? Doubtful. Change is what makes the world go round ... relax people.

I'm sorry but if you can't see well enough to avoid road hazards, maybe you need glasses or need to drive something that is higher off the ground. Too many people take safety for granted.

 

Love the roadster rims!!! but IMO i like the stock GT rims a little better but it might look different up close so I can't wait to see it up close!!!
