I guess we should just hand him the WDC trophy and Ferrari the WCC. Still have to finish to finish first.

it's a very positive platform to go on with. reliability and long run consistency is looking good so far. it's going to come down to constant tweaking and finding more speed, just like any year.

Usually I'd assume this to be pre-season hype but FA has such a history of complaining to the press he just might be telling the truth. ;)
The best thing about this time of the season is that all things are still possible.

I may be too skeptical of the oaf, but I also think he looooves to get his barbs in at others.

Saying Ferrari is the best team he's ever been at (FU McLaren). Massa is the best teammate/friend (FU Hamilton). He gets along wonderfully with Luca (FU Ron Dennis). His car is awesome (FU Renault). He has wonderful support on track (FU Piquet). Etc, etc.

    :D

MS used to say that stuff too when he was at Ferrari.

I hope FA is correct but let's see what happens at the first race and go from there.

He said something similar last year, and boy, that Renault really sucked.

Well, he's already blurting out to the press. I wonder how he'll sound if Massa beats him in the first 3 races ;)

Alonso is still in the honeymoon of the Ferrari relationship saying everyone is so great, I'm so happy, etc

He's an outstanding driver and should do well but if and when trouble come we'll see whether his true colors have actually changed. Hopefully Ferrari will not tolerate his past complains and tantrums.

Yeah but the green flag no longer starts races. The lights do.

Everyone deserves a mistake and very clearly Mclaren and the events during Alonso's time there were his.

In my opinion the signing of Alonso is a fantastic. For reasons that people in the UK section are aware of i have a soft spot for Massa and will always want him to win. Common sence tells me that Alonso will win more races than Massa.

Alonso will put pride back into being at Ferrari and he will give us 101% of his own free will and not kicking and screaming in the way that Kimi did. The fans will love him as will the sponsors and he will ring the neck of the car to get an extra tenth of a second.

We have got a real racer on our hands, you dont will the drivers title twice through luck alone. Alonso will have passion and real drive.

Instead of inviting failure, lets get behind our new man, things can only get better and who knows ne may even make you smile.

    Together we are strong.

I think Alonsa and Massa are a great pairing. Massa is a great qualifier and will make Alonso raise his game in that area. Alonso on the other hand is great racer and hopefully will help push Massa to improve his wheel to wheel performance.

I think this just shows Alonso is excited about being where he is...

All things considered, he has a very "in-your-face" attitude. We all saw this when he won the WDC w/ Renault. He's a bold character, but I think it will be refreshing to see this kind of charisma again in the Ferrari paddock.

I'm excited to see what he can do. God knows he's got the skills to move a car around the quick part of the circuit and Ferrari the time spent on the R&D for this year's car... I'm seeing a successful season this year.

It will be interesting to see how Alonso will handle being the "new guy" at the team. Something tells me he's going to hop in front of every camera he can so as to make himself the #1 driver. I can see some dirty driving against Massa if a win is on the line as well...

All too early to tell though - all skepticism. Looking forward to the season though, needless to say.

And when Button says Ferrari are the team to beat, I get all warm and fuzzy. :)
