Owkay! That's a complete list Most things i can find myself in but there are some things that are not alouwed: -front plexi window -6pots brakes (550 Maranello) -carbon brakes -titianium things -355 gearbox Generaly all things need to be period correct to a maximum of 1990. Carbon seats are a bit pricy, for that 2kg i'll search elsewhere Best way is to start with all the basic stuff like chassis etc and then later on the engine i think. I do have a complete spare block with broken heads (timingbelt snaped while driving). Maybe i can tune that one during the racing season and put in the next year. Not that i'm not ambitious but we have to be some kind of realistic, i think i can't batle for podium places, not in the first year
Brakes may be changed but no carbon. (Not period correct?) And nothing more then 4pots. I have found a AP racing set front and rear, complete -excited-
Just a question, a lot of times it can be cheaper to buy a race car instead of building one. Unless you just get a thrill out of building things, wouldn't you be better off buying a 355 Challenge or 360 Challenge?
If budget in the future permits, dry carbon fiber doors, radiator intakes in doors, hood, front and rear bumper, front fenders, and side mirrors (if used).
Not period correct and unnecessary. Avoid the rotating and unsprung weight gain and save your cash for things that will demonstrably improve lap times and/or reliability.
Excellent point, assuming that you're not buying someone else's under-maintained, under-developed race car which then requires stripping and starting over from scratch. Buying a used race car can be a huge savings or a money pit, and it's usually tough to determine in advance which one unless you have a lot of experience or are very well advised.
I do like making things instead of just buying them. Also there aren't alot of racing series here where you can enter a 355 or a 360.r Since my job is selling classic cars i needed a classic car (25+years) so there was my 348 that just stood there... To late! I have a AP racing set. 4pots, bought it cheap so no harm done! Not sure about the weightgain or loss. We'll find out
Will the rules allow you to run rotors that have light weight hats? That is one way to get rid of rotor mass. Either way the bigger brakes will definitely help more than hinder. No sense having a car that goes fast but has a hard time stopping.

Some update's. Nothing fancy, just getting everything out. My girlfriend helped me out stripping the interior for me. Real love? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
This is how far i got after 3 afternoons. Engine is out. I would like to get the engine from the frame soon but this seems a big task(?) The bolts of the exhaust headers seem to be non EU sized. Socket 12 is to small, 13 to big Grrrr
It always looks so alarmingly dramatic whenever the engine is dropped out of a 348. All the best, Andrew.
was going well ....for a while (man there is a lot of rust on that powertrain......possible flood car??? ...or driven in the winter salt?)
Great project you have there Enzo!! I read somewhere that a former belgian race car driver was given? a heavily modified 348 as a street car, I can't remember his name... probably someone remembers, that one could be an inspiration for you? formulagt from Munich have some go fast parts for the 348... all the best Yves
