I am happy to report, on behalf of all you Mondial owners out there, that a Ferrari Mondial won the Best in Class trophy at Pebble Beach last week in the Ferrari Competition class. It also won the Enzo Ferrari Trophy for best Ferrari on the field. While it was built 30-some years before, and only has half the cylinders of the rest of the Mondials on this thread, a Mondial is a Mondial, right??

In any case, here is 500 Mondial 0556(0446)MD at its trophy stop w/ my parents in the car.

What a beautiful composition; nice cars a great bg and perfect weather.

Especially the one before last picture looks almost unreal. If this was not Fchat i could be one of those dorks that say "photoshoped, la la la"..
    Is it HDR?

    High Dynamic Range.

I think, its a photo technique where you take more than one picture of the same scene with different light and exposure settings and merge them to get a deeper effect.
i ain't no expert so i may be making that up :)

Thats why i thought the mountains on the background looks like they are from another day, hence "photoshop, la la la" quote.

    Hi Hank,

We're impressed. You need to find a coupe to have a truly unique matched set.

Long time no hear from. Hope all is well. Been staying busy and looking forward to getting some driving done this fall. Sophia says HI and exends her greeting to her younger (we think) cousin.

    Ciao,

    John & Carol

Swiss design house Sbarro did a couple of Mondial one-offs. In addition to the more frequently seen silver car with the "cow catcher" front, I found these seldom seen photos of the "Sbarro Boxer Mondial" off of the TuningFever.com website. I seem to remember that an FChat member has acquired the body bucks for this particular car.

Perhaps I'll finally make it to Pebble after I own my Mondial 45 years.
Congrats to the Admiral and the whole family - a true labor of love for a car that really has been a 'family member'.

Just to keep this thread going

Mondials not only look great, they sound great!
For those who do not frequent the tech section, here is a short video of what driving my 3.2 sounds like from the inside with the exhaust I designed.
I tried to get the tach in the photo, and you can figure out what gear (and how fast); and the hyper-astute will notice the STCorsa center aircon vent.

And, here's a photo of the car when we lived in Germany in 1998 - 10 years ago!

    Hey Russ,

Your Black Beauty sounds so damn good ! And of course, after more than ten years with you, she looks and, I'm sure, performs better than when she was new.

BTW, on a long country drive - - have you determined her maximum MPG?

    Cheers, Hank

    Hi Russ,

Thanks the trip back down memory lane. I can't believe I've had Rachel for going on five years now :)

    Happy Holidays all,
