Overheating, refilling the radiators and driving again without diagnosing where the coolant went in the first place -- blown head gasket. Then the engine was attempted to be removed and the throttle bodies were taken off and the mechanic decided he was in over his head and threw the parts in a box and left the mess to the elements. Wet leaves were found in the intake runners!
