During my last trip in USA, I made a small tour in L.A/Beverly Hills. Incredible the number of exotic cars that are over there. May be not so crazy as Monaco/Monte Carlo, but still impressive. Here is a pic of a house, with some F cars... Damned, this crazy BUDGET truck that is hiding one or two Fcars. The F cars (Maranello, Superamerica, Barchetta) have a kind of wire getting out the front grid. Does anybody have an idea of what it could be ? Besides the F cars, there were two Rolls Royce. (Sorry, don't know the name of these cars (not italian), but I think they are among the most expensive RR). The house owner seem to enjoy Art... Post your pics ! I must have gone on the same tour as you, the one starting from hollywood. I have pictures of that house with all the ferrari's also.. I can post if you would like. When i was there in Summer 2007 i saw: Phanton yellow 612 red 612 red f430 red superamerica red 550 red 599 SLR in the back
I can't believe he's got the Love statue! As for the wire...maybe battery tenders wired so they don't have to leave the hoods open? LOL, someone's been watching Pretty Woman.
That's funny. I driven past that house the past two years and the same cars are outside. The address is 1000 crescent drive. That can't be good for the paint.
I think I was very lucky to see those cars, but it seems they spent most of their time here ! So, effectively, the wire should be a kind of battery charger. Do you think all these cars belongs to the same owner (which seems to be the case from what I read below) ? Here are 2 more pics, showing a 599 and a Prius (I do love the Prius !) and a another Superamerica. As for this last one, a lot of F cars I saw had a licence plate only showing "Ferrari of Beverly Hills" without any number. I saw other F cars in San Francisco with licence plates " Ferrari of San Francisco". Do you think they belong to the Ferrari dealer? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=150262 just go there, it seems there is just a group of kids that stand around taking pictures on rodeo. since the economy is tanking, maybe their allowances will get smaller and these may become rare sightings. the marciano gang
The sunshade on the windshield is to prevent shrinkage of the leather on the dashboard, which is particularly bad on 550/575s (355s too)
I'm not sure how it is in Europe but when a car is purchased from a dealers lot in America it has a paper or in the case of exotics metal plate designating what dealer it was purchased from. Guess its for a little free advertising. Then once the license plate comes in from the Department of Motor Vehicles the dealer plate is removed and the license plate is put on. But there are some owners that keep the dealer plate on and hope that they don't get in trouble with the police for running no license plates. So to answer your question 9 times out of 10 they don't belong to the dealer, unless on the off chance you see a dealer's car out for a test drive or something.
I believe that is Michael Douglas' house and normally there is a Range Rover which Katherine drives, but maybe it's now the X3
OK, you should be right. It is very different in Europe, at least in France. No dealer plate when you purchase a car. Only a provisory plate with numbers, and then comes the final plate.
need to check that address on google earth. Apparently it is the guess house. There is at least 8 cars all under covers. Same spots. Needs to invest in a warehouse. Freind came back from there and told me about a house with about 12 ferraris out the front, but i thought she was pulling my leg. "Guess" not... Pardon the pun.
I rode my ducati down from sf to beverly hills last thanksgiving for an art show and ran across this house. At the time he had 3 550's, 2 575's, and one super america. must really like the body style. I stayed at the beverly hilton and saw a ton of nice cars on rodeo. Silver phantom and a custom LP640 and tons of continentals. The last pic is from a gas station in the middle of nowhere with my 999 and two other ducati's showed up. great trip. IT is indeed George Marciano's house. His son Matt is a good friend of mine. Rumor is, they have the largest collection of RED Ferraris in the US. The cars pictured here are just a few of George's collection.
