    That's right: a satellite picture!

Google maps updated their pictures recently. When I typed in my address and zoomed in, there I found my GTB parked in the driveway! It was taken earlier this year on the day I was doing some spring cleaning and rearranging things in the garage, hence the boxes and the GTB in the driveway. What great timing, huh? Anyone else?

Very cool, Anthony !!! Can you put together and post here, a five or six picture sequence while zooming in? That could be fun to see:):)

    Cheers, Hank

Google Maps is a great tool/resource and has really made things easier when it comes to travel, but there is really no privacy anymore.

Not to mention this will be a short-lived thread. Yeah - my house is in a Google
Earth shot. But do you know how slim the odds are that ANY F-car will be in the driveway
at the instant the "bird" takes the shot?

    Yup. Seen that one :)

But HOW MANY HERE ON F-CHAT will be able to post "pics of YOUR CAR from outer
space" or Street view? It's like LOTTERY ODDS that one of our cars will be there.
The OP should have bought Power Ball that day!!!

    :)

Yeah.. so is that a FERRARI? YOUR Ferrari? If not, or if not, then it doesn't count. Is it "from SPACE"?

    ;)

    Refer to OP....

Well, not quite... I think Google uses satellites for the really far out images and then clipped/cropped photographs from aircraft for the zoomed in stuff you see there. That's why sometimes it says "no higher resolution" for some areas. A Ferrari would probably be discernible only as a small blob barely recognizable as a car using satellite technology available to civilians.

So... "an aerial picture" would be more fitting. :)

    All the best,
    Andrew.

Yeah, and I don't see the word "Ferrari" anywhere in it... nor do I see a pic "from outer space", that photo was taken from an aircraft.

So... will anyone else find their car on Google Maps?

    Wonder what the odds are...

Regardless of the technology involved, the spirit of what I was getting at is pretty evident, don't you think? Post a one-in-a-million "eye in the sky" photograph of your car. Ferraris of course are the focus (it is Ferrarichat after all), but a Manx ain't your average grocery getter and is definitely cool it its own right. ApexOversteer, GuyIncognito, thanks for joining in the fun and for contributing. Let's see who else can find their car on Google Maps.

Sorry. Being pedantic is something I do pretty well, which can be a good thing in scientific circumstances and not so great in other ones.

    All the best,
