We all will have these services if we have our cars long enough. Since 2005, I've driven this car over 50,000 street and track miles. It is the first converted 348c driven by Jim Kenton; campaigned by Lake Forest, and then Ferrari of Washington where Kenton won the last 348 Championship. It is a wonderful little car and I enjoy the driving experience more than any other car I have the pleasure to drive. What struck me about this picture is the Challenge Race Pipe I have always had on the car. This car is LOUD, or unfortunately for me use to be very loud. The engine out is not inexpensive, and dreaded. Also, I don't follow the three year rule, instead do the 5 to 7 year service, and I only had to replace the valve train once, but it was due to a broken valve spring I think if my memory serves me. Other major services include two gear boxes, including the very cool "drop gear" box that was a bit impractical on my long trips, some of which approached 1,000 miles in one day. More to follow, let's see yours. Image Unavailable, Please Login

Very nice and clean! I think I see GTS on there, making it a rare removable targa style roof! How long do you go between belt services?

Noticed your tag is SC. I am in upstate SC, any chance the shop is GTM and Sons? Planning on my first engine out service (355) this winter.

Yes, might plan to head over there tomorrow. Lake Keowee here, noted the water ski icon, perhaps you are near? My issue now is finding tires, looks like I will have to put on Nittos. 315/35/17 and 245/40/17. I probably was one of their first SC contacts. They had their shop at Parker Field for years, and when I saw the two Arrows F1 cars in there, I figured they knew their stuff. I've seen anything from a 166 to a LaFerrari, 288, and they just did our F40. Big Pantera guys as well, have you seen his Group 4 Pantera that finished LeMans twice? Time flys...http://gtmandson.com/meet-the-team.html

I, too, am doing the 5 year interval, but I'm comfortable with that thanks to using the Hill Engineering bearings.

I did mine in Jan 2019, and should be good to go on lots of parts.

Things I noted: 1. The timing marks on my cams line up perfectly after degreeing them. 2. My early engine doesn't need the TSB10-34 bearing, as it still had the failure bearing. That has been sorted out.

Lined up perfect after timing them with the shims as is or after shimming to a specified clearance of 0.5mm per the manual before timing it then checking the marks after re-shimming it to valve clearance spec?

Sierra Blue? Beautiful. Interesting, my shop always takes my wheels off, I can see why they would not.

I carried out an engine out service on my F355 M2.7 in my own garage this summer. Time consuming, but very rewarding.
6 years since last major service.
