    [nerdy tech info ahead] It's not a backfire at all that causes the fire and explosive sound in cars like these. It's actually decel fueling (aka an overly rich condition when it's at almost 0 throttle) and a good deal of raw fuel going through the exhaust the pop and fire. It's done intentionally for quite a few reasons other than looking/sounding really neat. Calling it a backfire makes it sound like a misfiring, malfunctioning car which is far from whats occurring.

    Now when you see a mid/rear engine turbo car with fire shooting out of the wastegate dumps (only due to being extremely close to the exhaust ports) and a pair of big turbos screaming, that will give you a tingle in your shorts :D

    I can think of the following:

    - Black 512
    - red 355
    - red 360 (I have pictures of it somewhere)
    - 4 Dinos (one owned by a vet that makes house calls!)
    - red BB (but I have not seen that one) in years

    That is all I can think of right now....sad when I can name most of them!

    Yes, and so strange that the sparcs are in a completely different spot, just shows how fast those F1 are!
