One more. Monaco skyline + at the Le Metropol 5-star hotel this evening.... 550 is running more every day now than it has been doing in months and years in the past. Got a Focal aktive sub, and now it is a real car that can be relaxing. It also can go the steepest (and narrowest) small back roads in Beausolei at idle in 1st gear. Quite impressive! Just completed a 1500km trip in the Laurentians and an outing to the range, hence the dirt and bugs everywhere. Fantastic. Image Unavailable, Please Login

Jagman it was a special order by the original owner who owned a number of Ferrari's. As obviously he was a valued client living in Australia at the time Ferrari reluctantly agreed to a "Paint to Sample". Being a Lamborghini colour needless to say it was not a popular choice with Ferrari at the time. You either like it or dislike it. The car was originally scheduled to be painted Blanco but that never happened and it was the only orange Ferrari on the production line at the time. I recall being at the dealers when the car was delivered and then lived just a few houses away from me. So I have always had a desire to own it and preferred it to my previous 2 red ones. But then again my wife did suggest that I have my eyes checked in case I was colour blind.
I am pretty sure my wife would have wanted me to check a few other things at the same time as well! We only have "boring" colours. The only car we have that has red (Red over Silver) currently is the Jag MKV DHC, and it will go back to a very dull (but sophisticated "Birch Grey" when it gets a complete restoration some day. (Birch Grey / Pale Blue (grey that Jaguar called blue). our unrestored V12 E-type OTS is White / Black and our 1976 XJ6C is Silver / Dark Blue. Of course our 456 GT has bright Connolly Red on the inside . But I agree, that orange is errr, striking. I like it, but I could never bring one like that home.
What bugs and dirt? I can't see any. We just killed a deer with out 456 GT the previous weekend, and I don't think I could find any damage, but noticed that he whole front piece had moved. So I undid the bolts, moved it back (half an inch I think) and retightened everything.- Amazing car it is. (Oh, we did have some deer poop on the RH headlamp and inside the cavities, and some fur, but it washed off quite easily) Poor deer.
I have to agree with you. It is every Ferrari owner’s human right to drive his stallion every 365 day of the year!
