Here are some recent pics... Two from «Frognerseteren» just 15 minutes out of Oslo city centre up past the ski jump etc., with a great view from the old restaurant out over the Oslofjord. I had to pick up my dog (Enzo) up in the mountains in Norway, and the 295 tires had a bit of a hard time pulling on deep wet grass up the steep hill to the cabin where he have stayed for two weeks with his girlfriend dog Luna and their family while I have been busy selling fast boats in the city. It is good to have him back. Wish everyone a great summer! Surprisingly well! I could keep up with the rhythm of the others, at least uphill. She doesn't take flat corners, but has a lot of torque at lower RPM than Italia and Scuderia. And V12 sound with Tubi is soooo addictive!! F12 is in another league though
Erik- I remember how beautiful Norway was and your photos reinforce that. Girls are pretty, too. When I lived there, though, my father had a 55 Buick. Did not see too many nailhead V8 Buicks in Norway.
Thanks Terry. Yes, that is true. Scandinavia have some very good looking girls, and nature of course. Sweden has the most classic American cars. Power Meet at Västerås has every summer over 10.000 classic American cars...!! Norway has also a lot, but Sweden is in its own league. Every friday and saturday evening, you see at least 50-100 of these cars «cruising» up an down the main street in many cities in Sweden. The weather have been superb here for weeks now with 90+ degrees! But now a bit colder, so my friends in Monaco try to convince me to come back down with the Maranello. It is tempting... All of a sudden, the car runs on only eleven cylinders. So just got two coil packs sent from Eurospares to our cabin along the south coast. They did not have the smaller pulley for the water pump, so I ordered it and they will get it from Italy soon. In the mean time, the Jag gets exercised after half a year of total stand still in a shed. I love that car too, but it needs a real service and small fixes. Not the same quality as the 550, but a great car to drive! I just discovered britishparts.co.uk where the prices are 1/9 of the local Jag workshop in Oslo. So sent a big order to make the car coming back to its former glory days as when it cruised the interstates in California. It is towing the little «go to get the grocery» speed boat up and down to the launch ramp, as my Chevy truck is still in France. All three are in a dark shade of blue (if we count the old Yamaha outboard engine). Works great! So smooth... And it have a Bluetooth adapter installed on the original Alpine stereo, so sometimes I get to tune in «Smooth Jazz Florida» and I get the vibes from when I had the car in Miami. I bought the boat when I was 17 yrs old and still have it 21 yrs later. Engine never rebuild since new. Runs like a champ at 87 mph. A low flying rocket from 1987. A childhood dream thing. I still cannot get over how good looking these cars actually look - 456/550/575/S.A. Y'all know the new crap from F, is just obnoxious. Whatever floats your boat. I never test drove an example, hitched a ride, and or sat in any of the 456/550/575/S.A. cars. It's all in the specs. The V-12, analog gauges, lack of a video game dash, exterior design, and gated shifter sold me. No desire for any backup camera and nav in a special ride.
One of our favorites! We tune it in through an Ocean Digital internet receiver in FL or stream it through a phone up here in WI...
Ah yes - a DB7 Vantage in Mendip Blue. Have one of those myself. The optional sport exhaust may arguably create one of the finest V12 exhaust notes IMHO. Snap, crackle and pop! Very fun to drop a gear or two when going under a bridge. Can't help myself!
~1500 km per year. About average for a Ferrari in the US. Mine is younger with more mileage (klicks).
I got mine at 23,013km June 20, 2007. Hit the 30,000 in August, 2007. Sold her with 98,000 June 30th, 2017 (not because I wanted to). Only reason the mileage was still that "low" was that I had covered another 90,000km in other Ferraris during that time. The memories...! Would love to take the next one to Norway. They are such phenomenal continental crushers, I just love roadtripping in a Maranello. Onno
