Most Ferraris in Japan are LHD, even though they drive on the left side of the road. Good place to hunt Ferraris, once over 25 years old.
By brother did 666.666 kms. in my dad's Peugeot 406 HDI 2,0. Still original turbo and exhaust. Not bad for a French everyday beater. After dad gave it to his son as a first car, the forgot to remember when the timing belt was going to be replaced. So it snaped and the engine broke. Could be repaired, but they sent it to the scrap yard and it now lives in the Peugeot heaven with other (possibly less long run) brothers and sisters). Lancia Kappa coupe was hot when it came out. From when Lancia still was a very special car. I have over 100.000 kms. on my 550 clutch now by the way. Still going strong!
My grand daughter did a number two in the car, but we felt no need to celebrate. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
I always appreciate taking advice from my respected elders! A few years ago I was on a tour of a construction site and I was walking a short distance in front of a “seasoned” general superintendent and a young “project engineer”….as we walked by a Porto-john the master comments to the apprentice….”son, let me give you a piece of advice….two things you never take for granted as you get older….a clean toilet and a strong morning erection”. #wordsofwisdom!
First run after the winter. The 550 with Fabio's 6-1 headers is so awesome, a dream to drive and sounds like heaven. (After 25 km, i saw that i forgot to mount the new front license plate) Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Daniel
Daniel- How do you get those custom plates in Germany? RV I think is the location, but the rest is custom. She looks great and the gold wheels definitely separate her from the pack. Just like the P4s of old.
Hi Terry Exactly RV is for the town / area Ravensburg The letters and numbers you can choose 1 or 2 letters and 1-4 numbers When number is free you pay about 15€ Very short combos are reserved for motorcycles Daniel
Daniel- The rear view of the 550 vs the 812 is really telling. The tailpipes on the 550 are 72 mm (I measured my own at one point), but the tailpipes on the 812 appear to be at least 100 mm. The tailpipes are moving a lot more gases from your new V12 than your old one.
Terry, the 812 tailpipes are fake, the real exhaust tubes are much smaller than the tailpipes. But nethertheless the inside diameter is larger. From the 812 I did not saw the exhaust tubes under the car, but 550 to 599 GTB was a big difference in diameter, so 812 should be once more larger than 599 GTB. Daniel
The Fuchs from the 550 has 75mm at the end and they are a little bit smaller coming from the muffler (no valve version) 812 has 100 mm and tailpipes and very different tubes coming from the muffler. Daniel Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

So true! I loved my '87 3.2l Carrera and even my '98 C2 for being real sports cars (considering weight & size). But even though I am aware a 992 GTS/GT3 will run circles around the 550 I would no longer consider any 911 from 991 on a sports car. Guess my 911 era is over. (Like is my newer Ferrari era. Or let's face it the era of ICE cars altogether...)
My father had such an Austin Sprite before i was born. He installed a 1500 MG engine for better performance. I must have an old photo from the front, the bonnet had a scoop for the higher engine. Daniel
