Hi Rob! Its always good to hear from you. The car is just a delight as a daily driver. As you know I plan to register for the local 1/2 mile drag race that will be held in a couple of months on a closed airport runway. I have been bragging about Prugna Metalica being especially fast and this should make me an honest man out of me. One way or the other. I have been practicing third gear runs to estimate the best shift rpm. In truth, I think a 7,000 rpm shift might be the best. Depending on how many runs I am allotted I will use first 7k, then 7.7k, and finally 6.5 k. That will bracket the power curve. I am still conflicted about a fourth run with a smokey burn out. I am convinced the drive train is agriculturally strong but if not it could be curtains! But I bought the car to find out about Ferraris and thats one of the things I do not know. On the other hand we all know all it would do is take .5 seconds off the pre-existing ETs. In any event there will be a photographic record!
I agree with you. I have had my car almost three years and do not even know if the radio works. The Tubbs reference was very very apt!
Freshly restored with the last connolly hides available. Check out the alcantara upper panels/dash. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I was thinking to do the dash and upper panels too in alcantara, looks great! Did you got rid of the cockpit reflection in the windshield? If I may ask, would you have a picture of the cockpit too?
Zero reflection, much better. I'll take more pics when I get a chance, thanks. Thank you! Thank you! It is essentially brand new, now I am nervous when I have passengers.
Leather looks incredible!!! The way I would think a RR or Bentley would look inside.... Regards, Jerry
Digging up this post again! Just came across a combination I haven't seen before. It's authentic. An incredibly stylish and all-original interior of a Mondial 8, VIN36193. Colour is - testa di moro - a dark chocolate brown with fabric center seat. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Urs! what have you done to your QV? Did you drop something and tried to find it? It seems yours or maybe not? RHD
Exterior seems to be yellow....strange combination. To who whas this delivered originaly ? Some suggestion : To the boss of Suchard interprise?! Guido
Interior refresh just completed, before and after pictures (leather filler for bolster cracks and re-dye the seats)... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I used COLOURLOCK products, highly recommend them and their customer services plus technical support was brilliant. Told me exactly what was required and created the custom e-shopping cart order, plus lots of information. A colour match was done on the leather (Ferrari Light Fawn / Autolux 3218): 1 x COLOURLOCK Leather Cleaning Spirit 225 ml 1 x COLOURLOCK Fluid Leather Filler 7 ml - Special Sample Mix 1 x COLOURLOCK GLD Pen 40 ml 1 x COLOURLOCK Leather Sanding Pad 1 x Kit - COLOURLOCK Leather Fresh Dye Kit with Mild Cleaner - Special Sample Mix
I forget the code - dark(er) blue. I restored with a product about 8+ years ago, worked well, but had to follow instructions to ensure it didn’t look ‘painted’ and got proper adhesion. Banned jeans soon after, due to studs scratching ( stud rivets, not jealous muscular guys!) outside is Argento silver. Found hill pedals worked well and replaced the footrest and (broken) accelerator surround with aluminium too. Hardest task was to find an ICE head-unit with green display to match the dials!
