2018 Audi RS7 Performance (DS1 Tune + Miltek exhaust) runs 10.8 @ 128.7 MPH it's a brute and my wife's car. We use it as our baby hauler 2021 Tesla Model S Plaid is my daily and work car. Used to do baby duty but my wife hates the car because no sound, no physical buttons, and while she likes speed she says it's too fast and the torque is uncomfortably brutal. Stock brakes are dangerously bad upgraded with Unplugged Performance Carbon Ceramic Big Brake Kit. What are your thoughts on the upgraded brake kit for your Plaid? Worth the investment? Any feedback from multiple aggressive braking efforts? I have to admit, the stock brakes on the Plaid have been a significant deterrent for me purchasing the vehicle.
It's a worthy upgrade but the car still cannot defy physics. Put it this way, the OEM brakes if you really had an "uh oh" moment and pressed that brake as hard as you can it will scrub speed. The carbon ceramics with stainless steel lines it bites a bit harder. I think it went from unacceptable to basically how the car should have come from the factory. I'm awaiting their rear carbon discs and pads to ship as I have them on order . The technology in the car and the brutal acceleration cannot be put into words. It literally gives me chest pressure and I've had the car over a year and over 14,000 miles under my belt. I've come from other high powered cars before the Ferrari (boosted Vette, GT-R, R8, etc.) and while they were all fast nothing compares to 1,050lb/tq hitting you in the chest at a moment's notice. It's like getting rear ended at high speed. I would definitely recommend the car just be warned their service sucks if anything goes wrong. Knock on wood, nothing catastrophic just minor incidentals (creek/rattle/alignment type stuff) that's been taken care of now.
This thing hadn't been driven for weeks. Gave it the royal treatment last weekend and hope to get it out a few more times before likely parting ways. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

When I declared the purchase of my 550M to my wife I was met with the retort “I thought we’d agreed you weren’t going to buy that…!!!” So I asked what car she would like - she thought for a while and then said I’ve always wanted a Mercedes convertible - and thus, to hold onto the 550 we have this (an ‘87 560SL) ……… in fact we’ve done more miles in it than the 550 which is a little bit sad given the driving dynamics are so different. Beautiful. So much prettier than the US version with its huge bumpers, third brake light plonked in the middle of the trunk, and four headlights.
Interestingly this was actually a Californian car imported into the UK in, I believe 2013, by the SL Shop - whom I purchased it from - and they had de-federalised it and it was used as their “demo” for several years for those who wanted to “try before you buy” - I bought it as I wanted a LHD car to use from our French house. In fact the conversation with my wife started out as “Are you going to buy a LHD car for France?” My 550 is also a LHD car and was originally intended as the “French” runaround!!!!
