Ok with just a few weeks to go lets see who has the clearest crystal ball out there.

Here are my picks for the 2005 season.

    1. Ferrari (10 Wins)
    2. McLaren (4 Wins)
    3. BAR (1 Win)
    4. Williams (1 Win)
    5. Renault (1 Win)
    6. Toyota (1 Win)
    7. Red Bull
    8. Sauber
    9. Jordan/Midlands
    10. Minardi

I also predict that Minardi will Score more than 2 points this year just due to the uncertanty of tires lasting an entire race and attrition AKA USGP 04

On a related note, some additional predictions...

    1) Reubens will have a mediocre year (again) whereas Michael will shine
    2) Webber will not outshine his teammate and will lose some of his lustre
    3) Button will continue to do pretty well, and Sato will keep nipping at his heels. It will be exciting!
    4) Ralf will fail to impress, as usual
    5) Montoya will not put in a performance as good as expected, will get more vocal as the year progresses, and will end the year being disappointed at McLaren but will stay next year while making a lot of noise about how he just doesn't have the right equipment/setup/luck
    6) Kimi will do fantastically well
    7) Villeneuve will prove he is infact washed up
    8) Jordan will sink to the back of the pack with Minardi
    9) Toyota will finally start to show some speed and at best may be like BAR was last year

Ok let's hear your predictions for driver performances?

    Michael will earn his paycheck.
Alonso will get stuffed by Fisi.
Webber/Nick will do well in an uncompetitive car. They will be even.
JPM will get beat in race performance, but I think will do well in qualy.
    Massa dismantles JV.
    Ralf beats Trulli.

Michael will use a 32 pit stop strategy enroute to a +1 lap win. Rubens will tell everyone this is his year and he just can't seem to get the car dialed right.

Kimi will beat the living snot out of Juan Pablo for spinning him out on Lap 1, Turn 1 at Melbourne. McLaren will fire both of them and replace them with a pair of monkeys and one will then go on to win the championship - the first for a primate.

Sato will blow his motor, Honda will then supply him with a 4 cylinder Accord engine which he will detonate. Button will make under the table deals with Minardi because their pit girls are hotter. The press will then post pictures of Button with said pit girl, Button's current gf will b*tch slap him in public.

    1. Ferrari will win the team and driver championship again - The Ferrari will be slightly better than the Mclaren. Kimi and Montoya will take points off each other and this will give Michael the edge
    2. Kimi will narrowly miss the crown this year like in 03. The Mclaren will be a much improved car and will capture several wins
    3. Toyota will have another "mid-pack" year - this time Mike Gascoigne will run out of excuses
    4. This will be Villenueve's last season
    5. Renault will improve over last year and be competitive throughout
    6. BAR will do worse than last year
    7. Jordan will have another mediocre season. Both drivers will be fired at the end of the year.
    8. Ralf will beat Trulli
    9. Alonso will beat Fisi
    10. Heidfeld will score more points than Webber and might luck out a win
    11. Michael will not retire this year.
    12. Bridgestone will be better than Michelin
    13. Race winners in 05 - Michael, Rubens, Kimi, Montoya, Heidfeld, Alonso

I agree with Mr. Payne except I doubt Massa will dismantle J.V. I bet he will be faster than J.V. but not by a large margin. Michael will win the championship again. I just think it may take him a few more races before he wins it outright this year.

Play nice, "dude". I could have said VOLUMES about your predictions and the chemicals you must be on. I just gotta think that there will be more than a few smokin' cars sitting on the side of the track this year. If your issue is with Sauber, I have a reason for my predictions. With Sauber running the F-motor, you gotta think they will just be in the right place at the right time. We all know that motor is like the Energizer Bunny. JPM will probably wipe out half the grid on another one of his patented stupid moves, so who knows? Besides, as I have stated before, I think Sauber will surprise a lot of people this year with a quick car. I hope JV does well. Massa will be fine. Williams will kick ass this year because they FINALLY have two hard working drivers (one of which will be the next WDC). AND, they have two drivers who will finally take advantage of having (arguably) the most powerfull motor in the paddock. I cannot wait to prove all you Webber bashers wrong! Sorry, but "Quick" Nick is not even in the same time zone. Kimi will (as always) keep his head down and will keep pushing - and will beat JPM like the dog he is. Mercedes will not deliver (again). Renault will be good on some tracks and bringing up the rear on others. Now that their (ahem...illegal) starting aid has been "clarified"..... Fisi will spank Alonso. Button will have a mediocre year. Sato will be lost in space, but will mysteriously pull something out of his a$$ for the JGP. Ralph will be respectable, however Toyo will once again be scratching their privates wondering what to do NEXT year. I actually think DC will put in a few surprising inspired drives that will give hope to Red Bull. RB.....I do hope he gets his Championship. A few DNF's by MS and he will be on his way. It would be a nice reward for someone who is a true gentlemen and a very capable driver. ALthough as passionate and emotional as Alesi, I do not look forward to his podium dance!

first off, there will be far fewer pitstops this year now that the tires have to last the whole race...so deduct 1 from every race, eg monaco was a 2 stopper, will now be one, etc.

the engines have to last 2 races plus qualifying, which means about 350 miles, vs last years 100-150. so this will favor those who had their act together last year, like ferrari, (sauber), bmw and toyota and honda

so my predictions are as follows:
    ferrari 14 wins
    bar 1
    williams 1
    toyota 1
    renault 1
    maca 1 (maybe)
toyota 1 (maybe) (i know the math is off, but they both have 50pct chance)

schumi will be world champ again. rubens will be second, but just barely over button.
williams and maca will both have disastrous years.
sauber will actually finish in the top 5 teams, just because they wont have engine failures and they will have good tires. fisi and alonso will be about equal.
redbull, jordan, minardi will be bottom of the heap.

-MS will be world champion, RB will not even come close.
-KR and JPM are going to finish 2nd and 3rd in the championship.
-Fisico will have more points than Alonso.
-Ralf will be faster than Jarno. It will be a BAR vs Sauber vs Toyota matchup.
-NH will have the same amount of points as MW at the end of the year.
-Jordan Midland and Minardi are not going to have more than 5 points.
-Sauber are going to have a strong year. JV will win a race, it might not be pretty but we'll take it.
    - DC will finish in the top 5 at least in 1 race. Liuzzi will do better than Klien, if they give him a chance to race.
-Sato will show some good stuff but again JB will be getting all the points.

    Drivers Championship:
    Top 5
    1. MS
    2. KR
    3. JPM
    4. RB
    5. GF

I notice several of you talking about a Sauber victory. I would love nothing more than that but find it a bit overly optimistic.

    How about some race predictions?

    - Will it rain again in Interlagos?
    - An accident in Monaco?
    - Intermittent rain in Spa?
    - Will Turkey get its act together on time?
    - Will more than 5 local Chinese show up at the Shanghai GP?
    - Will the USGP have the lowest turnout or do a lot better thanks to FCA?
    - Will anybody in the US get to see a CBS tape delayed race or will it be thrown off the program due to breaking news in golf or women's volleyball?
