Very nice! Lightnings will always be cool in my book. If only it'd been a manual. But the auto fits it very well. Any mods?
You are right to me this truck is a classic. It has 20 inch custom wheels ( built to fit ) and I put on a Bassani cat back. It only has 28K miles and looks new inside and out.
Very cool, Glenn. Rims look nice, refreshing to see polished wheels now. I do love the sound of these, the whine is intoxicating. And the fact that its very easy to mod. And my favorite Ford interior. I'd love to have one one day. But couple spots on the list first.
In 2001 the lightning hit 0-60 in 5.2 ( 2001 M5 hit 0-60 in 4.8 ) Very fast for a truck. The guy before me added the rims I also have the original tires and rims. I'm ok with the chrome look sort of old school. In 2001 I had a lightning and never stopped missing it. I gave it up because they were going to come out with a 500hp 2005 model with a stick. Well we know that never happened. I always thought the lightning aged well like a NSX.
They have aged well. That is my favorite body style. I regret selling my 2001 a lot of days... I'm not a huge fan of chrome, prefer polished, I'm just burnt out on black. I do like the argent and silver wheels. Maybe one day Ford will build another sport truck...
Very nice-looking truck! I guess with trucks there's always a huge amount of brand loyalty at play. I've always been a Dodge man and I have to say the RAM SRT-10 does a very good job holding up the brand with regard to competing with the Lightning. It's also a V-10, 6-speed manual. Just brought out my 93 GMC C3500 and dusted it off. I've had it since new. It's going to get lowered with a 5/7 kit next week. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yes another great truck and one of only 3 made for speed. the other along with the lightning was the 1991 GMC Syclone. I wouldn't mind owning all three.
The Syclone was awesome. I would like to see some sport trucks made now.. The SRT Ram was really the last one. The last SS silverado wasn't anything special to me. I know you could get a supercharged Tacoma, but I want someone to build another muscle truck..
Yep. They're affordable if you can locate well-maintained specimens. Of course, you'd have to find the garage space and find time to spend on them... oh, how the mind wanders!
