And the 64, as all Bourgognes, is anyone's guess: either grandiose, or completely past...

I had the wines conserved by Sothebys about 5 years ago. at that point the acidity in all wines were still good.

the bottles were placed in a nitrogen Helium filled container - cork removed and wines filtered, bottle necks cleaned and molds removed. wine was placed back in, and re sealed with new corks and waxed sealed. I do have the sediment for the Laffite in a small testube sealed as well.. and the conservation certs from Sothebys.... the Yquem is for our 20th wedding anniversary in 4 years.

The laffite is incase i need major Ferrari work ...

I had a 2nd of the Richerbourg about 10 years ago, and it was great.... you forget about the amount of sulfites used in the wines back then so the headache the next day was spectacular... or was it the 4 other bottles of wine?

Well, as for myself, I would switch the choice and drink the Lafite...but that's just me, I never was too keen on Yquem anyway.
Happy your Bourgogne is still on form, they can been "temperamental" as aging goes. And yes, headaches are hard with these.

Oh, and I put some links especially for you in the "building a kitcar on a 308 chassis" thread, so you can exercise your french...
