Enough of the "______ Sucks" and "Hammygate" threads. We've had some fun surprises so far this season, so let's get everyone's predictions for Singapore. Not the old Kimi, Hamilton stuff, but instead who do you think will be the surprise story to emerge from this race? I haven't decided yet--I'll have to think a little more and post later.

OK, I'm between Webber and Seabass. I'll go with Bourdais since he's newer and his success would be a slightly bigger surprise. But he has been coming on lately, and Vettel showed that the car can hold out and win in adverse conditions. On top of that his CART days prepped him for a race like this. I want to see him get a top-3.

I think the biggest surprise would be another rain race with Vettel making it two in a row.

Since the race is at night, and the lights will burn brightly, exhausting our fossil fuels at a rapid pace, maybe Jenson and Rubbens in the green cars on the podium.

Oh, I forgot, Jensen is British and I can't use sarcasm around him or I will get bashed on this board. Excuse me, let me correct myself, Jensen is a god. Women want him and men want to be like him. (Girl that he is.)

This is probably the most difficult race of the year to predict. Qualifying poisitions will be the major factor, espcially with rain. But my guess for the points:

    1) Massa
    2) Vettel
    3) Raikkonen
    4) Hamilton
    5) Webber
    6) Kubica
    7) Heidfeld
    8) Barichello

I do not want to see Raikkonen take away points from Massa, and of course, I want to see everyone else take away points from Hamilton.

It would be nice to see Sutil up front again if it rains, just like at Monaco.

I think Seabass should do well. The STR is looking good as of late and (I believe) he is the only person on the grid with experience racing under the lights which should give him an advantage.

I think the surprise will be if no one has a serious accident. It is a tight street circuit, new to the drivers and run at night. God forbid if there is some kind of glitch which causes the lights to malfunction, even for a second. The consequences could prove tragic. I think night racing is a VERY BAD idea. Unfortunately, new race venues are going to have this shoved down their throats by Bernie in order to get a race. I look forward to every GP. I am looking forward to the end of this one, hoping for the best.

i think the biggest surprise of the weekend will be the fact that Luca will be babysitting Kimi, allowing for a good qualifying and effective race!

i think it'll be fine. when its raining down the driver doesnt see anything either (apperently its like driving behind a truck in heavy rain, 2 feet from the back, at high speed), they have to listen to the car in front when to brake etc. I dont think it'll be much worse in the dark, im sure there are plently of back up lights in case the main ones do go out.

besides, arent some of the nascar races driven at night? granted, they only turn left but they dont have lights either right?

    :)

Bas, these are supposedly the best drivers in the world, so all should be just fine. And you are correct, many of NASCAR's races are at night, and many of them at constant on the edge speeds of 190 MPH average.

So I figure the best drivers in the world should have noooooooooo problem in Singapore.

hahahhah , no, let's hope he DOES try to cut the chicane, it'll prove the 25 sec penalty was very fair in retrospect :)
