You guys just aren't getting the hint. I want a good E-class for sub $25K. Are they any good? What's the resale look like for these 5 years down the road?

Maybe your not getting the hint :)

If you want an E-class, get one. However, most people have had negative things to say.

Problem with MB's is they are not ultimate driving machines. Only BMW's are ultimate driving machines... so if you buy the Benz it may be good but it won't be ultimate. It's saddening that MB never bothered to make their cars ultimate driving machines :(

In terms of reliability, they stink.

I had an E350 4matic that I traded a year and a half ago for a GL450. I loved that car. Not a thing wrong with it. Comfortable and a nice ride. Reasonably quick. It was a great daily driver. We now have 5 kids and my wife has an R500 so we need the extra seating. I still miss that car. We have had a lot of Mercedes products and all have been great and problem free. JMHO.

Currently have a E55 AMG 04 MY and nothing wrong, well it had a tranny line leak but it was a recall so it affected all models, other than that no problems what so ever. We had a 2000 MY before that and drove it for 140K on it and nothing was wrong. Just some wear and tear but nothing major. Just upgraded and got a A8

We have an '05 E500 4matic wagon that we bought used in the fall for about $28K. Car is loaded with every option known to man, had 50K miles on it, so miles were a little high, but my wife only drives about 5-6K miles a year. In three years, when we're done with it the miles will be average or less for a 6 year old car.

Not a thing was wrong with the car that Johnny Dents couldn't fix for $300. Runs great, goes like stink, nice drive and ride. I don't have any issues with the car and it passed its PPI with flying colors.

I'll let you know in three years if it's been reliable, but my guess is as a leased car for three years, any electonic or mechanical gremlims were worked out then.

Would I do it again? Absolutely, and I was a staunch anti-Mercedes pro-BMW guy for the last 20 years. Go figure.

I almost died in a crappy brand spanking new 2004 E-class. Stupid brake failure.
Use the search function to find out.

Cannot say much about the car. I TRULY hate it.

Buy a W124. Built like a tank. A class of its own
