Alex Zanardi will be on Dave tonight, and the preview shows him turning one of his legs up to rest a cup of coffee on the sole of his shoe. Seems like he can laugh at his accident.

Alex Zanardi is a true inspiration to anyone. Even now when I see the replays, that is a truly horrifying accident. I'm a Letterman fan from way back too. I'm one of the very few people who used to watch his morning show back in the '70s.

Thanks for the 'heads up'. I'll be watching.

There is a 300-ft change in elevation which includes the infamous Corkscrew, an incredible curling downhill series of turns. It was exiting the Corkscrew in 1996 that Alex Zanardi pulled off a breathtaking overtaking maneuver on the last lap of the race to beat Bryan Herta. Best pass ever!

^^ good pic Mark.... Zanardi is a great guy. It has always puzzeled me why he never manage to adapt back to F1 as he had good performances when he was racing for Lotus in the early 90s

I'll never forget after the Montreal GP when he waved us into his garage to sign autographs. There were a bunch of people, and he was obviously exhausted. You can kind of see that. That's my buddy Jay in the background. Very cool.

Did anyone happen to Tivo / record it? I completely missed it. Normally I'd say blah, but as mentioned below, Alex Zanardi is an incredible human being.

I actually wouldn't worry about it. While I really like the guy, the interview wasn't overly special. He's a remarkable person and I felt like it didn't do him justice, which is surprising since it was on Letterman.

    Amazing driver.

Side notes, he helped tune a special NSX in the late 90's. Also, I recall Honda made him a special auto NSX to drive with hand pedal accelerator/brakes.

I've got the actual crew shirt and jacket (Tommy Hilfiger) that matches that Lotus driver's suit.....one of the few non F car pcs. I have!

You can see on the shirt where they updated the Castrol sponsorship, with patches, over the traditional Lotus logo, which was sewn thru the original shirt.....hard times at Lotus towards the end...............
