It's completely fair, as likewise I will have to listen to all your "fellow non-fans" and not respond.

Too easy. No sacrifice. Not enough of a challenge.

The point is to counter the charge and we cannot speak about other things (that we are neither obsessed with worshiping nor hating-on Hamilton)

No, only Mercedes won and this is a fact. So apart from 3 Mercedes drivers nobody could have won both pre- and post hybrid. One is not WDC material and the other never sat in a car capable of winning a title before. Leaves Lewis so I do not know why this is considered special and worth mentioning

And Vettel could have won in a Ferrari, but did not...
This is all just semantics - shall we cease?

**** sakes are they getting upset about nicknames now? Vettel was known as fingerboy for a long time. Webber gave Rosberg the nickname Britney. Verstappen gets called crashtappen and whatnot. :D:D

Nope, not the issue...I was saying that if Daytona took up the challenge I layed down, it could not simply be skirted by using nicknames etc.

Yes, I was reported various times for nicknames, and publicly some have even argued that calling him Elton is unfair, yet for the life of me, I never knew calling someone by an actual name was derogatory, it’s just a nicknames, like I’m Lucky! Even have it engraved on my DuPont cigar cutter

Webber did more than that too, he cut and paste a picture of Britney Spears and put it in place of nicos photo in his passport, Nico only found out when boarding a flight!!!, to me hilarious, to some, seemingly, a imprisonable offence no doubt!

Yeah. My point is even F1 drivers give each other (derogatory) nicknames, even Brundle called Nico Britney a few times live on air...we're all adults aren't we?

The stats will tell you all there is to know about different drivers, and will be all that is left in the future.
Discussing the merits of teams and drivers at nausea just fuels ill feelings.
I can see that people have already forgotten the circumstances in which former drivers have won or lost races or titles in the past.
20 or 30 years down the line, nobody will care about Mercedes domination, or how Ferrari let slip 2 titles from his grasp.
Of course, if some of you like to keep up the slanging match, it's up to them.

Wow, I missed the occupation piece on your profile - president of the world? Yessir right away sir. Let’s not discuss f1 anymore, as in years to come it won’t matter anyway Hehehehe. :). Sorry billy, open goal left for me there! :)

Forza Ferrari..... the only racing team and car marque that matters. Italia forever It’s easier to apologise than it is to ask permission

So it is not worth discussing and you will not change your opinion anyway... So one might ask why you waste your precious time over here [emoji57]

Being influenced and changing opinion is a sign of weakness and denotes a flaw in character.

Following the herd to gain sympathy is not my way.

I thought changing opinion when you see that the arguments are overwhelming is a sign of strength rather than insisting on an opinion that might be wrong...
But obviously we have different interpretations what a discussion is....

    Does that sound familiar?
Lewis says Vettel dominating makes F1 boring and people leave.
Lewis says people should not boo Vettel because he deserves the win
The Team Boss says Vettel is up with the very best ever...

Now switch Lewis/Seb in the above written and it is history repeating... surprisingly some want to tell us that it is something completely different now[emoji57]

" ... when you see that the arguments are overwhelming ..."

Opinions are subjective; only FACTS are objective.

Someone who let himself influenced by others is of weak character.

So why are you discussing with other people and tell them your opinion when you think opinions are irrelevant???
Facts often do not tell much, the conclusions are the important thing. Every scientist will tell you that the datas collected are nothing without the interpretation of them leading to a theory

And someone that can't be influenced can also be a mule...not strong

Ferrari and Redbull had won races
If Mercedes was so dominant last year why did Bottas finish 5th in championship?

His job is not to win, his job is to stick behind Elton and protect him from any attack, no matter how unlikely. He starts the season well, challenging for results and the like with all the vigour of a New Years resolution, but then the Mercedes team orders kick in, he has to defer, he has to be the man on track to provide the tow, not the ‘towed’ and his confidence fades away, and this mediocre midfielder drifts backwards.

None of that has happened of course. Bottas' championship fate is entirely in his own hands, like it was last season until his luck and results fell off mid-season...and he was asked to assist against the Ferrari threat on a couple of occasions (which proved very much unneeded in hindsight.)

No doubt his early season strength was a glimmer of hope for those desperate to see Hamilton beaten (any port in a storm) but the reality is (as expected) he's just not quite able to sustain the speed and pressure coming from the other side of the garage. He will win more races this year. Very good racing driver...one of the top 5 on grid.

    Oh my god... really???
The car was not dominant because other teams won races as well... seriously!!!
And butler Bottas sacrificing some of his races to block opponents is the measure??? Really?

I’ve heard it all now..... Jesus Christ, Bottles, one of the top five on the grid? Really? Come on, no.... you don’t really think that? I’m shocked, here we are having a serious conversation and bottles becomes the latest inflated driver performance? Ah well, I shouldn’t be surprised, anything that helps to elevate Elton is going to be purported by his fans, even if it hasn’t got an ounce of truth to it.

Wonder if it’s the same thing that has happened as did with Rosberg..... firstly they all claim he’s a ****ing moron that can’t hold a candle to Elton while he is racing and beating Elton, it’s always the car that supposedly let Elton down, and Nico was just lucky, since he won the championship and left. Now though, he isn’t a threat to Elton, so he became a yardstick with which to measure not only current drivers, but has also been used as a reason to knock Michael Schumacher as well, something never mentioned before. Now, we have bottles, whose nickname since his first race for Mercedes has been BUTLER, who barely kept up with an ageing Massa, suddenly being touted as top five.

His results speak for themselves, when Mercedes let him race, he does okay in the most dominant car on the grid, but his races are in the main ordered to be driven to the benefit of Elton first and foremost, and as such, he loses interest over the season and gets mediocre results. He is hardly what anyone I’ve ever spoken to would call top five, he is barely top ten. Like Webber and others, he is a race winner that is an able number two, has the ability to turn it on on occasion, but hardly a driver whose name is mentioned as a top driver. He fully knows his position as a one year at a time contracted back up to Elton. Even if he were any good, Toto as his manager would remind him that a drive at Williams might be a good fit for him should he demonstrate any real ability without prior consent of the fuhrer

I suppose you have me a good laugh to start the day

If Mercedes was so dominant, Mercedes should have a 1-2 win at every GP, and its drivers finish in that order in the WDC.

Apparently they have only to parade the cars to win, and any driver could win in a Mercedes, according to what I read constantly on this, forum.

    That's what total domination is.

McLaren almost achieved that once, missing only 1 race out of 16!
