That footage was filmed in California two weeks ago, not in New York on Thursday as the article suggests.

much too out-sized an ego to drive for Ferrari. That said, I'd love to see it since I believe Sebastien would take his pants down. In fact I would not be shocked to see Nico beat him in 2016.

It's nice to see that a three time DWC currently driving for merc thinks that the best thing he can own is a ferrari !! Mercedes mgmt must be pissed but what do they have to offer instead??

I think Lewis has a lot of "favorites" (i.e. in addition to the LaF, his current stable includes a McLaren P1, Pagani Zonda 760LH, an original Shelby Cobra 427, 1967 Shelby Mustang GT500, et al).

He should enjoy whatever he wants.

Not sure if he can buy a Mclaren when he drives for Ferrari or vice versa.

Eww, no. Verstappen, Kvyat or Ricciardo please, along with Vettel of course.

Won't support Ferrari with Lew there.

I don't like Hamilton one bit, but a true tifoso always supports the Prancing Horse, no matter what...

    Exactly.

He can do whatever he wants with his money.

This has always been the case in F1, Berger always preferred the newest Lamborghini when he drove for Ferrari (see below), and Ferrari didn't mind one bit. All the teams care about is that their drivers put themselves in a position to win races, they could care less how their drivers spend their money.

As for the childish 'hating' of World Champions (in this case a three-time & current World Champion), IMVHO its utterly childish. You don't know the man personally, and he the fact remains that he is not here to please us with his lifestyle or beliefs, he is here to WIN RACES. Some may not like him, but he is the reigning World Champion, deal with it.

I think the word "hate" comes across differently in sports than in reality. I think it's just a passionate word in the sporting world.
I hate the Redsox cause I'm a Yankees fan. I really don't hate each individual player. (I don't even know them)
If Lewis Hamilton did race for Ferrari, I really think they'll be a lot less LH haters.
As for him driving a LaF, I just think it's a slap in Mercedes face. It is his money and he could do whatever he wants with it. It's just getting a lot of publicity. That's all. My Opinion.

I agree about the passion in sports, perhaps instead of 'hate' it could be described as extremely negative reaction.

Either way, its not positive or sporting, and for many people, that's a turn-off, because it has nothing to do with their actual performance. I really don't think Mercedes consider his ownership of a LF as a slap in their face! Drivers in F1 have always publicly owned an assortment of cars.

I bet if Lewis Hamilton were available to spend a private morning taking a drive or having lunch with some of the very people 'hating' (for lack of a better word) on him, not only would they feel completely differently about him afterwards, they'd be bragging to all their friends and posting on every social media outlet possible about the time shared.

He's the World's Champion, that's all that matters as far as I'm concerned, and to me, a three-time World Champion ought to command a certain amount of admiration & respect, even if he is on the wrong team. In my book at least.

Toto Wolf said that Mercedes doen't offer anything in LaFerrari's segment, thus there is no problem. If it had such an offering though, it could be a different story...

I'm sorry, I have to disagree with you on this one. I understand the respect thing but it doesn't mean I have to like him. I understand that "Hate" is a very powerful word, But, I would have no interest in meeting LH. Even If he was local. All and all, I'm really not an F1 guy if Ferrari wasn't involved. To me it's all about the red (I think you know that about me already):) So that being said, Yes I am a Vettel fan, yes I am a Kimi fan. am I a Massa fan? No, Not anymore. Use to be. Anyone who races against Ferrari is the ENEMY!!! :) :) :)

+1 There'd be a lot less haters for sure. If he was driving for Ferrari the arrogance that so many on here chastise him for would magically transform in to "passion" and "bravado" befitting an Italian team.
