Hi! Has anyone installed one of these rear engine covers with the vent holes? Being in Florida and getting into track days, I can see the benefit of extra ventilation from the heat in the engine bay. I have a challenge grill, but am surprised there isn’t much else for heat to escape other than the small vents on the side of the engine cover. https://www.plastics4performance.com/ferrari-360-modena-lexan-polycarbonate-rear-screen Image Unavailable, Please Login
Oh that is an awesome idea and would like to have this on my car! When you look at other variants that have a lexan panel it requires separate cross members for support IIRC. This is not shown with this offering yet it says it is for "Modena". I wonder if they have extensive testing with this setup on a Modena? Super cool though. I hope someone trys so I can learn if it is solid! Only other thing is I wonder if there is a lot of stray light off of all those edges and if that would be a distraction or not. hmmmmm
Actually looking at the image closer the product is shown on a Challenge! You can see the cross member support and the duck tail bump on the rear deck so maybe not a direct replacement for a "Modena". Image Unavailable, Please Login
I see they offer it in different thicknesses. I’ll contact them about their experience with the Modena. I met a guy at Sebring that works on and drives Challenge cars and he mentioned to get the thicker option so it doesn’t wiggle at high speed from air.
I have the other one w/o vents never installed I'm glad this came out. I do have the cross bars in carbon.
