OK, I've had my 430 for 6 months, and it's time for me to do some interior maintenance...I've purchased a botttle each of the Lexol cleaner and conditioner, which I'm sure is swell for the seats....The question is whether that stuff is appropriate for the dash-- I assume the dash is leather, but its foam/porous consistency made me think twice about whether it should be treated with the same stuff. Is there something else I should be using to maintain that?
Thanks in advance for your help!

I have used it on mine for 4 years. Interior is still perfect.

It's good, just a little stinky (not in a good way) and sticky. Personally, I will not be using it anymore.

Lexol is fine for the dash. You shouldn't need the cleaner for the dash, just the conditioner. Just use a microfiber towel and wipe away the dust.

I'm no leather expert, but I would be careful putting leather conditioners on the dash and door leather. I believe these areas have specially dried leather which limits movement caused by swelling/shrinking. Otherwise, over time, the leather may separate from its backing and appear rippled or loose. Who knows, excessive conditioning may directly weaken the adhesive bond, too.

Seat leather is different, it must move with the padding. Therefore, it retains some of its natural oils.

This is a good question- I have never had a car with all leather interior before (on the dash, doors, overhead- everywhere!) After 10 years the leather in my 360 still looks like new and I want to keep it that way...the car is garaged all the time, but for those summer days when it is out and about I'm wondering if I should put Lexoil on the dash or just leave it?

I too hate the shiny look of the cleaners, but I think it gets absorbed in a couple of days at least on seats...never had to put it on a dash before...and when using lexoil on my 911 the smell usually goes away after a few days.

(I wouldn't want to lose the leather smell of the 360 either- when the car is parked w/windows up for a day or two it smells like a Coach bag when you get in!)

I clean all leather including dash board with Auto Glym all purpose interior cleaner and condition with Zymol's Treat. The leather does not get soggy atall and there is no question of lifts or shifts or peel offs. Lexol on the other hand is fine but you should not be pouring it on but use the Lexol cleaner diluted and foamed sparingly to wipe the leather and immediatley wipe dry with microfiber. Adil.

Do you even need to use the leather cleaner first on something like the dash? There's really not much that comes into contact with it....

I had been using Lexol on all leather parts of the car, but more recently switched over to the AeroSpace303 UV protectant......... specifically for the UV protection. Now granted I have no long-term results on any car but, I have never heard a negative about it either.

But I only use it on the top dash area.

Paul, the dash is the same leather that's used throughout the interior and should be treated as such. I use Griots Leather Care...http://www.griotsgarage.com/product/car+care/interior+detailing/leather+care%2C+16+ounces.do?search=basic&keyword=leather&sortby=newArrivals&page=1. Use sparingly and follow directions.
You may also want to consider Cover Crafts window Heat Shield UV100 to protect the interior against UV's...http://www.covercraft.com/windshield_heat_shield.htm Both 360 and 430 use part #UV10901

Lexol and Griots products are too sticky.
Try 303 on dash and Zaino Bros leather in a bottle on seats. Has worked well for me, both have natural matte finish.

    Lexol would work.

I also like Leatherique's Pristine Clean to clean and maintain the leather in between the Rejuvinator Oil treatments.

Here's a tip: after I treat the leather, I leave the windows open. Inside of 24 hours, the stickiness is gone and the leather smell is back. Feels good, too. I'm sure there are many other good products. All I can say is after 4 years and a lot of miles all at high altitude where UV is much stronger, the interior is still like new.

Several great products available. Regarding Griots, if directions are followed properly it will not leave any sticky residue.
