    ooooh la la

For less than half the price of a 599 and most likely comparable performance
This thing will pick up where the NSX left off in pushing the Italians.
It sounds awesome and from the show car they had looks great too.

Sure doesn't sound like a Lexus....

    Sounds great!

but for $200k I'd stick with a Ferrari

I think you're correct. They are projecting prices just north of $100k.

On a separate note, interesting that they are using a 14 year old car as a comparison point for a supercar like the LF-A

Its Toyota's fastest car to date- they probably had a few laying around. The Supra is Royal Sapphire Pearl- which I think makes it a 98 - the last yr it was produced. I wonder who they are gunning for with this car- M6 or 599 or maybe they want to own the niche in between

That was a surprise - I thought the previous showcar looked bleh but that is much better, and sounds great. At $100k, Aston will have its hands full.

Supposedly there are two MKIV Supras that are registered to Toyota that are seen at the ring fairly often. Also keep in mind that the Supra was made until 2001.

Hey Ryan, on a separate note, how did your partner who graduated from Cooley like it there. Im currently attending the school but stand a very good chance at transferring to a tier one school in the fall.

It sounds great, but it's still a Lexus. I just hope it turns out to be more than a suped-up Camry. ;)

    Where's the engine?

That's a long hood for a mid-engine car, but then what's with all the intakes?

Will there be an electric motor up front?

Maybe they are using its fat arse to see how the Lexus performs in a slip stream at high speed :).

Probably just a big engine- look at the 599 which is a front mid engine car- ever see one up close- lot of hood-

I think the LFA will be a very sexy car- exotic but still markedly japanese- which I think is smart- its what makes the current LS work- its the ultimate iteration of a japanese luxury sedan - not a redone S class- ala previous generation LS.

Currently Exotics are realy embracing technology- more so than design. And Japan is the King of Technology they should produce something here that is embraced by the market.

rock out with you cock out Lexus- you've earned it!

No, I think Lexus just used a public track day as opposed to renting out the track. The Supra is probably just there for the owner's own entertainment. Same with the Mercedes showed later in the vid.

Nope. The LF-A has been seen around the track with other MKIVs accompanying it on a number of time. There is good reason to compare it to the MKIV as it was a MKIV Supra (granted it was modified) that held the ring record of 7:49 for a production car for some time. Chances are the Supras that are being used as reference points are slightly modified. Squeezing 500hp out of a Supra is like taking candy from a baby. And it's by no means a straight line car. It was originally designed to be a GT car. Even today it is still considered to be (along with the Skyline) to be the king of Japanese power cars.
