just bought a 360 yellow coupe from elgin, ill. the car is currently at LFSC. i am considering having them do the major service; however, i haven't kept up with their service department since the departure of lee and drexel (awesome folks). could someone shed some lights?

i did speak at length to rob, their newly service manager about the result of my PPI and inquired about some of the service campaign issues (timing variator) in conjuntion with the 15k timing belt service. seems like an ok guy but i was astounded at the fact that he has little to no knowledge of ferrari cars....AT ALL. he repeatedly apologizing for his lack of familiarity with these technical terms and at times kept refering to it as a timer variation !!!! scary

You are not the only one who has a little bit of doubt about their new team. Ask fellow Fchatter Sklitz11 who still might have his car there today as for some of the odd mishaps involving his car's work and customer relation efforts.

Last time I was there, it took them 3 hours to change a battery and they first installed a dead one.

Regardless, I hope you find a decent shop.

Lee and Drex are a loss for those dudes. I don't pretend to know the details, but if I were in charge there, i'd give lee a call and see if he wants a job.

LFSC now has another service manager as of last week. Seems like a nice enough guy. My phone calls of late have not been returned, but hopefully he can sort out my issue.

Lee and Drexler were a huge loss!

that's rob, the gentleman i talked to. i am amazed at how an organization like LFSC can hire someone to be SM who knows so little about ferrari.....his follow up ability has been less than impressive for me as well. will keep my fingers across....

I had some serious issues with John (interim service manager), and as a result would not go back after 8 years of satisfied service. I think they have a real problem in the service dept. there.

GOOD NEWS..just learned, the new SM has 22 yrs of tenture in the car service biz...

NOT SO GOOD NEWS...12 of it at a Nizzan dealership and the last 10 at a Honda Dlrship....

question: does anyone know if we have any from LFSC as f-chatter?

Thanks Scott for joining and standing up for your shop. I'm glad that LFSC gets a chance to speak out as well. Welcome to Ferrarichat and please keep us posted about things going on at LFSC (e.g. events etc).

These discussions are worthwhile, but I don't want them to turn into a mud slinging contest. I appreciate the civil tone shown on here so far.

Over the course of the last 24 hours, I must say I am becoming more impressed with the SM's effort. He has been trying to get in touch with FofNA to get them to do a service campaign on my behalf (to no avail but the effort is recognized).

Scott is right on about the same staffs of mechanics. Joe and his son, Greg are top notch people. Greg is extremely knowlegeable with the newer models and on top of things. I shall reserve my judgement but so far I am cautiously more optimistic. I encourage everyone to give the new team an opportunity to prove themselves. Btw, I have given them the greenlight to do major service on my 360.....(I will be the guinie pig....and will let everyone know how it all turns out when I get my car).

I just had some work done there last month.... it was fine. Slight billing issue, but it is being looked into.
I continue to take my car there because of Joe. Always willing to chat, show me a thing or two, is the epitome of a "no BS" kind of guy.

Whether or not the serrvice manager gives you a warm, fuzzy feeling or not, their mechanics are top notch. Of all the things posted about LFSC, I do not recall anyone feeling like they got hosed in the service department (other than "the part costs WHAT?!?!" - which will happen anywhere for a lot Ferrari parts!). Never have I heard about fishing expeditions regarding servicing that ended up in a 10K bill without actually addressing the problem (this site is repleat with those stories!).

So, I think your 360 is in good hands.
Maybe I'll swing by and take a gander at it.... I need to get my car smogged anyways... (fingers crossed....)

    Hey Mike, how are you?

That would be splendid if you could swing by for a gander check. After some initial comprehension, I agree with your assessment. Undoubtedly, Joe and Greg are as good as they come. They are the reason my 360 is there for major service and not elsewhere.

    will do, richard.

when compared to other ferrari authorized service centers, their estimate isn't the cheapest nor is it the highest.....

i will keep everyone abreast of their work after i get the car back and drive it for awhile.

My name is Rob Borre. I am the service director for Lake Forest Sports Cars. I am excited to be associated with ferrari and yes I am eager to learn the product. I have been in the service business for 21 years. The most important factors I will bring to Lake Forest Sports Cars is cars being fixed right the first time, cars finished when promised, competative pricing, proffessionalism, consistently and trust. Remember we still have the same skilled and respected technicians and now we have a solid management team. Looking forward to meeting and serving the ferrari community

Well, when I got my first exotic(Volante),I admit I was a little bit apprehensive regarding dealing with the service issues, after hearing so many horror stories from other owners of super or semi supercars.
Especially after my excellent relationship and great treatment (always) at Knauz and Audi/Porsche Exchange.
Had only one service visit so far at LFSC (some minor audio problems)but I was really taken aback with an utmost professionalism and respect from their personnel, receiving treatment that normally would be expected for some long time, loyal customer, not just a first timer.
I do not believe for one second that these pros would mistreat any customer(short of bending backwards) unless he is some real a###ole.(plenty of these around ,too)

Any of you in the area stop by... they have some cool older cars, multiple F430s being prepped.
