Anyone see the need to spend $3,375 for the Li-Ion battery if I'm not intending to track the car? My McLaren has it, and I know it's considerably lighter...but, I'm wondering if there's a compelling reason to add this to my F8 order?

I did not opt for it...especially at $3,375....you can always replace it later with an Anti Gravity Ali-Ion for less.....

If you want a li-ion, don't waste your money on the OE option. Get the Braille i48CS instead. It has a huge capacity and the quality is top notch. Several have installed them.in their 458 and 488 with great results.
It's not so much about the lightness, but rather the fact that it gives you as much trouble free starting as possible.
Just remember to get either a CTek li-ion charger, or the li-ion Ferrari trickle charger if you prefer the OE charger.
