48 hours into Roma ownership and really can’t fault the car, other than haven’t managed to figure out how wireless car play works - if anyone knows please let me know!

When the dealer asked me before collecting if I wanted a front licence plate, I was surprised at his question as it’s illegal in the UK not to have one. However, he told me that it requires them to literally drill into the bumper so quite a few people don’t have them attached.

Anyway, after some searching I found a company in the UK that makes an incredible and really well made mount that fits through the holes on the underside of the car and enables you to safely attach a plate without drilling. I spoke to the owner of the company and he was great and shipped it next day… it’s perfect!

Worth noting that on the drive back to London from the Ferrari dealer in the Midlands I got pulled over for not having a front plate. The police officer was thankfully nice and I showed a picture of what I ordered and he let me on my way!

I’m not sure what the deal is with posting company names, but if anyone wants the details of the company then maybe message me, unless a mod wants to confirm if I can post their details here!

I have one of the early carbonio Roma frames. It mounts easily with no screws BUUUUT, I found it interfered with the front parking sensors and caused the rear sensors to be flaky because the front were getting reflections. Removed the plate and no sensor problems! I mucked with the design and made it better but I still have slow responding rear sensors so I think I’m still getting reflections.

Also, the pressure tabs are below the mount so it artificially lowers the front making it scrape the holder on my entry to the road. Worn down a fair amount of metal of the holder this way.

    ‘Still mulling a better solution.

I think this is how it goes, blue tooth your phone on choose phone only, that is if you have a separate music player, blue tooth the music player as music only, click media/source and choose your music player, sometimes it’s seems necessary to reconnect your blue tooth device every time you start it, it was the alarm that drove me nuts, and the sat nav. when I asked it to take me to Cambridge the 1. Suggestion was somewhere in Italy.

    Yours looks very nice.

I have the Carbonio no-drill frame also and have not had any problems with the front parking sensors. The sensors can detect higher up things like other cars or walls. Occasionally, I get a blip for something lower like a curb when parking, but not with any regularity or consistency. I wonder if you have the same experience or perhaps your front parking sensors are angled downwards (towards the license plate).

I have the same experience with bottom of the Carbonio frame scraping the ground. I seem to remember someone with a different (no-drill) plate mount, but have not been able to find it. It involved a pair of "L" shaped mounts with the bottom of the L taped (with double sided tape) to the front splitter and the side of the L taped to the license plate. You would not be able to remove your front plate at will. When I purchased the Carbonio frame, I liked the idea of being able to remove Carbonio frame for photographs, but in practice, I have just left it on.
