Hi, I'm hoping someone can provide me pictures or better yet dimensions/drawings of the license plate light bracket for a GT4. It's item #8, part 40048001, from diagram 108 (pic below). Some call it the number plate light bracket. Anyway, I'm missing it and can't seem to find one and I'm wondering if I might be able to fabricate a decent replacement. Thanks for any help. Russ, You're better off finding a used one. The early ones ('74) were cast aluminum. Yours was probably plastic like mine. It shows from the back of the car. It holds the bulb holders and the lenses and then attaches to the lid via three screws. Try FerrParts or one of the usual suspects for the part.
My car is a 74. Mine is aluminum. I tried to repair/refinish mine. It was pretty far gone. I had a new one fabricated. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/308-328/365026-license-plate-light-frame.html
Finding one has been tricky. That plastic just doesn't hold up to a rear end hit ;-) Dr, I'm sending you a PM to see if your Alabama connection could fabricate up another one. It looks great! Thanks, Russell
Is this part exclusive to the GT4 or does it spread across the entire 3X8 line? Sent from my iPhone (Which means I am probably sitting by the car, confused.)
When looking thru old emails for the contact of the guy that made my license plate light cover (http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/141440540-post14.html), I found an email where he said he made two. One is on it's way to Russ. When I emailed him to confirm he still had the second bit, he asked if I needed more made. If this is something you guys need/want, and I can get some commitment, he will do a run of them. If your plastic bit is worn, cracked, or you just want an aluminum bit, let me know on here. I know I won't be able to get 'a couple' done cause he said it was a pain in the ass to do by hand and will have them cut in a machine and he won't do a few. Just let me know. Cheers.
