On my 88 Mera (308 replica) I have a Beverly Hills Ferrari license plate frame. I like it. I may put on one my 348. Any other suggestions? Rodney Dickman 1990 348 TS Image Unavailable, Please Login
Absolutely. I take my Ferrari to car shows. The b!tc# of hassling with removing my license plate is gone with that baby (flip the switch once you arrive at the show and people can't take photos of your license plate). With that frame you don't have to remove your license plate every time you park your car (to maintain your privacy).
It may not be on that site, but there is also a version that blanks your license plate or blanks it with a "STOLEN" message that integrates with your car alarm...thus giving police an excuse to pull the car over.
Ok---Let me think about this for a minute. The website says it is designed to conceal the identity on the owner at car shows.... While at the car show you usually have a card of some sort in the front windshield with your NAME and car number for the judging on it. If you win they call your NAME and car number to receive your trophy... Sounds like a clever way to conceal your tag for REDLIGHT cameras!!! But what do I know just my opinion......I am sure it will never be used for that purpose....and it wasn't originally designed for that purpose!!!!! yea right... Luckily in MD ----ANYTHING that covers ANY portion of your tag is a $60 ticket. Clear or not....
Knowing your profession, I can understand why you are initially negative on that sort of product, but please keep in mind that there is another world out there with people who use this service: http://www.ReversePlateLookup.com ...against law-abiding drivers.
Just curious---Have you or do you know someone who has actually used that website to find accurate info?? Maryland will NOT release info to people. At one time anyone could go and pay a few bucks to get registration info. With all that has happened in the world, identity theft, credit theft, etc. Most states will not release that info anymore. I have a NCIC clearance and have to enter two passwords to get registration info. Everytime I run a tag or get info like that, a record of MY request is on record. It is hard to believe for $29.95 anyone can get that info. I would guess if this website can get info - they are not doing it legally..Or they can not get a tenth of the info someone really wants.. I would be very interested to know what that site can really do...
You got me there. I don't know. But, I can tell you that my first ever visit to an Alabama DMV brought up the subject. A kind woman there warned me that my information would be available to the public, and she gave a few examples of how it was done and who was likely to do it. Of course, that was many years ago! I've just taken it as gospel ever since. Maybe my view is outdated.
I certainly hope most states took the stand MD took back in 2002 and stopped giving out info like that...I know years ago, like you said any info was there for the taking. I believe alot of that has changed quite a bit in recent years. Certainly when there is a will there is a way, but it is quite a bit tougher these days, which is good for all of us...
If that's the case then there is substantially less justification for the license frame that I posted. Should I take the chance?
If it is Public Record it can be accessed by anyone for any reason an can be access thru the internet Examples Mortgage, deeds, police reports and the lists goes on. This is legal to do because it is Public Record, it might not seem right, I know i do not like it. IMO
Public record is not as public as it used to be. You are right , anyone who really wants info can get it. But it is getting harder to obtain...
Sorry to hijack the thread, but my license plate frame....FRAME ONLY no controversial lens ...says "TOO CLOSE FOR MISSILES" on top and the bottom says "SWITCHING TO GUNS". I bought it several years ago at the reno Air Races.
