Try Pro Am, Richmond at Greenridge...they have some nice ones that do not cover any of the plate, just the edges and mounting holes......

    It's not for simplicity!!

The local police will stop you if ANY of the printing of the standard Texas plate is covered...it's gone past silly to ridiculous...but there you are..front and back plates installed, uncluttered by a big frame, no cover lenses allowed, insurance papers ready, state safety inspection........

No open beverage........and put away those Zig Zags! LOL!

    Boy, I feel safer already........

I've left the Ron Tonkin frame on my 1977, a tribute to the previous owner.........

thanks for the replies guys, but I was looking more for a neat frame with the scuderia or cavallino on it.
Oh and no matter how many tickets I get, I will not put a front license plate on it. Have not on my past Ferraris and will not on this one either ;)

I'm the SAME exact way!! Knock on wood though, I haven't gotten a ticket for no front plate. I personally think its ridiculous. None of my cars have them.

Then you'll accumulate points under our new Driver Responsibilty legislation then and eventually you'll be paying the State a surcharge to maintain driving priviledges.... my understanding of the new law. Insurance rates will also increase as it IS now a moving violation.....

Sorry about that...you didn't SAY a FERRARI License plate frame! LOL!

Call Ferrari of Houston, then ask for Russ in Parts.....

I have hit three roadblocks already here in town. Some are on major residential thru ways....some are in the U turn lane under freeway underpasses.......Surprise! Heck, I was returning from Court froim the first incident and was caught by a SECOND one in a different car...

    Good Luck ya'll........

I agree....bought my car from them....Ferrari of Beverly Hills uses the same one... The plate and the lettering are done very well.....

Ferrari cracked down on anyone making logoed license plates that's why you don't see many around. I've got one of the ebay jobs and am pleased with it. Sounds like they are what you are looking for and for under $20 noone will know the difference ;)

I hate to bust your bubble, but the new law in Texas forbids license plate frames. I just took them off of all my vehicles, just one less excuse for them to pull you over...........bastards, first it's no more open containers...............

Frank...... Have you had trouble over it?

My understanding is anything that covers the writing on the plate is no good, as a LOT of dealers and shops did, but a simple perimeter frame was OK.

Obviously any lens, tinted or camera foiling type covers would also be a no no....

As always "officer descretion" is in HUGE play here........

I have a "Ron Tonkin" frame from my car too...anybody want it?

I went for the non-advertisement style, US made, polished-SS, "thin-profile," came with the chromed-plastic "snap-caps." Got it from a MBZ dealer in Fife, Washington....$27.00.

I didn't want the "look at me" "Ferrari" license plate frame...But I've thought of one of those cheezy frames you can get made at the state fair reading:
"My other car is a sh!#box"...Yeah, I'll put that one on for Monterey next year;)

You guys in Texas need to start voting more often....but I guess that's what happens when Pro-law-Enforcement, Pro-Police-State Republicans get voted into office. They won't say 'no' when Johnny Lawman wants to make this illegal and that illegal.......pretty soon, everything is illegal!

I made the all-hands request for Dealership plate frames, and Shelton came through - I received not one, but four plate frames in the mail. Two were chrome with Yellow inlay, and two were Gloss Black with yellow and white inlay. VERY nice. I also purchased a Steve Harris Imports Heavy-Chrome frame ($25), with engraved-and-inlaid Ferrari script....VERY nice, but have not mounted it on the car yet. For an added touch, I recommend the Ferrari Screw Cap Covers from Griots Garage.....

I was told the intention of the law is to prevent covering any writing on the plate.....HENCE....... no plate holder is acceptable. I pulled them off anyway.

I have NOT had any problem. However, one LESS excuse for them to pull you over. When my wife's navigator went to the dealership for service, THEY pulled off their own license plate holder..... so go figure.

The cops in my town are pricks, and use any excuse to pull you over.
