**Please Help** I recently transferred from Sicily to Pennsylvania and brought my 1986 328 GTS with me. I have to register it in the state and need to change the mounting from euro to US. The euro mount was drilled into the body and the holes don't line up with the universal mount that I bought. Is there an easy way to mount the plate without drilling or will I have to drill more holes? Will strong magnets work if needed to go that route?

Buy a piece of, say, 6 mm thick aluminum in the size of your Euro plate. Drill and tap the aluminum so to match your new US plate's hole pattern. Then thru hole drill the aluminum so to match the Euro plate sized holes already in your car. Paint the aluminum in whatever color you wish, and then mount it to the car via the Euro holes. Finally, attach your US plate to the aluminum with short bolts which will not protrude past the backside edge of the aluminum. Done!
